Sassy & Crafty- All About the Boo’s Card

Hey Everyone! I am so boo-yond excited to be sharing this super fun project I made using the new All About the Boos set, which is part of the Sassy & Crafty September Release!

For this project, I started it a little differently than I normally do… I made my background before I colored in my image. Now, I had a reason for doing things in this order, but more on that later!

I made my background only 1 layer. I took a 4.875″ x 6.875″ panel of white cardstock, turned it to landscape orientation, and masked it to only reveal about the bottom 1.75″ or so. Using Distress Oxide inks, I blended up a dirt road for my little ghostie to be traveling on! I also splattered this layer with some Black Soot Distress Ink.

Next, for my forest background, I masked my ground layer and used the Tree Stencil to blend a solid layer of Black Soot Distress Ink. I had to reposition the stencil so it stretched across the entire panel, but you can barely notice!

I then began blending my sky. I used some foam blending tools to blend a neon sky. I first blended up Purple Neon Ink at the top, and then Pink Neon Ink. Before blending up the Orange layer, I used the negative tree line from the Tree Stencil and covered up part of the trees. I carefully blended over this, because I had to then reposition the negative so I could blend Orange Ink across the entire layer.

Next, I stamped and fussy cut out the little trick r’ treating ghost in the witches hat. I placed where I wanted to put this ghost on the dirt path, and then used my Copic Markers to color him up to look transparent! To do this, I first tried to color match the overlapping tree line and dirt path colors, and then color them up a few shades lighter. After everything was colored up, I used a BG11, BG10 and C00 Marker to go over everything colored to make my ghost have that spooky see through effect!

To finish up this card, I adhered my ghost directly to my card panel, added the sentiment “Just here for the boos” in a framed banner strip, which is included in the All About the Boos set, adhered some enamel dots, and adhered the entire panel to an A7-sized piece of purple cardstock! Of course, I adhered this to an A7-sized card base, and my card was complete!
