Scrapbook.com- Thankful for Sweater Weather

Before we jump into today’s project, I wanted to let you know that I sometimes use affiliate links to share my favorite products. Don’t worry, these links won’t cost you a dime – they’re just little crafty helpers behind the scenes that help support me if you use them to make a purchase! Let’s dive into today’s creative journey together!

Hello friends! I know right now we’re dealing with some VERY warm summer weather, but I cannot help but look ahead to fall and all the coziness that surrounds the season!

Today I am sharing a quick post using the Cozy Autumn Foliage Decorative Die Set and Grateful Thankful Blessed Decorative Die Set by Scrapbook.com to create a fall-wreath-inspired card that looks ahead to a cooler time of year!

Below is a list of products used to create this card:

Cozy Autumn Foliage Decorative Die Set
Grateful Thankful Blessed Decorative Die Set
Grateful Gnomes Stamp Set
Cozy Patterned Paper Pad- A2
Distress Inks: Wild Honey, Mowed Lawn, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo & Ground Espresso
Deckle Torn Edge Paper Trimmer by Tim Holtz for Tonic Studio
Artis Craft Glue
Large Foam Squares
Frosting Embossing Powder
Embossing Watermark Ink Pad
Floral Hearts Glitter Enamel Dots

If you are ever stumped on where to start your projects, I often find that flipping through a set collection of Patterned Papers, like the A2 Cozy Patterned Paper Pad from Scrapbook.com, really helps. Typically, the collections come pre-set with fantastic color palettes where a lot of the patterns in the set can be mixed and matched! That’s where I started for this card, as all of the papers that I used come from the Cozy Patterned Paper Pad!

I thought it would be really fun to make a wreath using the dies from the Cozy Autumn Foliage Decorative Die Set. I cut out a handful of leaves, branches and the bow from Cozy Patterned Paper, and distressed the edges of each with a somewhat coordinating Distress Ink! I Also thought it would be really fun to use some patterns for some of the dies as well, so you’ll see the smallest leaves and piny sprigs are actually cut from a plaid pattern!

The wreath was easy to put together. I grabbed a circle acrylic block in my stash, put it in the center of my panel, and then traced it lightly in pencil. I then adhered my leaves one at a time, carefully layering each leaf so it was nicely set upon the leaf next to it.

I also broke out my Deckle Torn Edge Trimmer to help create one of my background layers. I love how it gives a rustic sort of feel to my card, especially when the edge of the paper is distressed with ink!

Finally, I love combining word dies with sentiment stamps! Here you will see that I took the “thankful” die from the Grateful Thankful Blessed Decorative Die Set and combined it with the “it’s time for sweater weather” sentiment from the Grateful Gnomes Stamp Set! It flows so perfectly, and it’s also a sentiment that, when combined, 100% fits my persoanlity!
