Hello friends! With the end of the month upon us, it’s time for the Kindred Stamps June Release! This month, we’re introducing a more mature addition to the Kindred Town series… Kindred Town: Adults
! This 4″ x 6″ stamp will allow you to introduce some adult-themed buildings into your crafting, and I have a handful of projects to share with you on how you can use it!

For my 1st Kindred Town: Adults stamp set, I wanted to feature some of the signage images that are included in this set! I had the idea to create a “wild” birthday card featuring the new Wild Word Craft Dies as well! This die is BIG! So big, that you will definitely need to use it in the landscape orientation of your A2-sized cards!
I decided to heat emboss each of the signs in a colored embossing powder so that they popped like light-up signs! I will admit that this background was a little bit of trial and error, and I want to share with you the best method I came up with to get this created:
- Start with a paper size that you will eventually trim down. For example, I started with an A2-sized panel, and then trimmed it to 4″ x 5.25″. I find that I often have the most blemishes along the edges of my panel, and this minimizes the blemishes because I can trim it off!
- You’re going to want to invest in an anti-static tool! I LOVE this tool from Taylored Expressions (but there are many other good ones out on the market).
- Free-hand stamp the background with an acrylic block.
- You’re going to want to emboss one image at a time. Don’t do batches of multiple images. The reason for this is because the embossing ink will dry as it sits on your paper. The longer you take to stamp other images, the more it will dry and you will get a lesser embossing effect. Remember, because you are free-hand stamping, you won’t be able to re-stamp with the use of a stamping platform.
- Finally, I heavily suggest using some form of white splattering on your background. Not only does this look really pretty, but it will also help mask up some of the inevitable embossing imperfections you may get as well! I have recently discovered the Dylusions Ink Spray in White Linen and this is a fantastic product to splatter onto your panel!

Next, I wanted to use the smaller store image and little signs included with the Kindred Town: Adults stamp set to create a little row of shops! I reached into my Kindred Collection and grabbed the Cafe Vibes and Sweets Kindred Town Sets to have different store designs! I love how these sets work together!
I was definitely going for a Boystown Vibe in this card. For those of you who may be unfamiliar and a non-Chicago Area native like myself, that is what the gay-friendly neighborhood on the north-side of the city of Chicago is called! I grabbed some sentiments from the Yaaas Queens set to give it a sassy birthday vibe!

For my 3rd Kindred Town: Adults set, I decided to create a Drag Bar and use one of the drag queens from the Yaaass Queen stamp set. I used a lot of different die cuts as well to help create a fun layered birthday card using the Card Builder Basics, Yaaas Word and Sentiment Strips die to help put it all together!
The Dolled Up paper worked so well with this card layout as well. I love the light pink disco ball pattern, and it worked really well with all of the glitter paper used for this card!

For my final Kindred Town: Adults stamp set, I channeled some Pride Month vibes and created a Gay Bar Shaker Card! This was really easy to do, and I had some rainbow-themed sequins in my stash that were just perfect for my shaker bits!
I used the Pride Paper Pack to create the background for my card, and I also lined up some glitter paper strips to create a glittery accent on top of my shaker card! Finally, I shopped my Kindred Collection and decided to use a sentiment from the Pride Parade stamp set, which I heat embossed with Snowfall Embossing Powder!
And there we go! 4 completed cards using the new Kindred Town: Adults stamp set!
