i-Crafter Coffee-Stained Card

Hello Everyone! Today, I am so incredibly excited to be sharing a Java-Awesome card I made using the new Latte Coffee Sentiments set by i-Crafter!

This project does have a shared post on the i-Crafter blog today too, so be sure to head over there and check out more crafty inspiration!

Aside from me just savoring my morning cup of coffee, what always draws me to coffee-inspired projects is the rich and earthy brown tones you get with your cup of joe! When I saw the new Latte Coffee Sentiments set, those latte art circle stamps spoke to me and I had an idea with what I wanted to do.

Taking a 4.125″ x 5.375″ piece of kraft cardstock, I used Ink on 3 Atelier ink in Twiggy Brown to stamp the 2 different styles of latte art, included in the Latte Coffee Sentiments set, at the same time, right next to each other. I carefully stamped a complete row, keeping my hand steady to keep the stamps well spaced apart. Once you get that first row, the rest is really easy, because you can use the stamped images above and below to help you position your images.

Once I filled the entire panel with circle latte art stamps (make sure to let your stamp go off the page, it makes a more finished look), I splattered the panel with a dark brown ink, let it dry, and adhered it to an A2-sized piece of brown cardstock so it had a nice frame.

Next, I took a strip of watercolor cardstock and stamped the mugs included in the Latte Coffee Sentiments set in an alternating pattern in a watercolor safe black ink. Using 5 different shades of brown Distress Inks (Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs, Walnut Stain & Ground Espresso), I watercolored each of the of the mugs from lightest brown to darkest brown. I thought this was especially fun because it looked like a gradual change in types of coffee and how much cream you had in it! Once the watercolor was dry, I splattered this panel with brown ink as well, let it dry, and adhered the strip to brown cardstock to frame it. I adhered this entire framed strip to the main card panel.

To finish this card off, I stamped the sentiment “I’ve bean thinking of you a latte” in black ink, and adhered some bronze and cream colored sequins to the card to finish it off.

And that is how I put this Latte Coffee Sentiments card together!
