It’s the 25th of the month, and that means it’s time for another Crafty Christmas Club Blog Hop! Today, I am sharing up a non-traditional Christmas card which mashes up some of my favorite Lawn Fawn sets to a truly out of this world project!
This set uses the following Lawn Fawn sets:
Winter Village– Buildings, Trees & Street Light
Ho-Ho-Holidays– Santa Hat, Wrapped Gifts, & “Merry Christmas” Sentiment
Beam Me Up– Space Ship, Alien, Light Beam & “Earthling” Sentiment
Super Star– Stars
(the coordinating die set make these stars so easy to cut out)
I colored up all the images above using Copic Markers, mostly using a Red and Green color palette, and then fussy cut them out, except from the Super Star images, which I used the coordinating dies.
For the background, I blended Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn & Pine Needles Distress Oxide Ink, splattered it with water, and then splattered with some white acrylic paint.
Justin Tip: When ink and paint splattering, I recommend using a cheap water color brush. I read once before about using an old toothbrush also works, but it’s a bit too messy for me. I also recommend doing your first couple taps of the brush off to the side of your project, just to prevent any sort of large globs (and if you get any large globs, cover them up with embellishments!).
The final bit of the card is my sentiment. I stamped the 2 sentiments onto a white strip of cardstock, which I then blended some Catherine Pooler Coral Cabana ink over the top. I backed my sentiment strip with another strip of red cardstock to serve as an offset frame.
I adhered everything onto the Distress Oxide panel, which measured 4.125″ x 5.375″, and adhered it to an A2-sized piece of Gina K Designs Christmas Pine Cardstock.
And that’s how I made this festively interstellar card!
