KS- Travel to Spain Projects

Buenos dias, everyone!! I am so excited to be sharing the newest addition to the Kindred Stamps Travel Series: the Travel to Spain set!

For these projects, I was heavily inspired by the colors of the Spanish flag, but I also have this odd quirk where I don’t like to overwhelm a project with lots of red and yellow together, so I wanted to have each project focus almost solely one on color!

I’ve got details on each project below, so vamanos!

For my first project, I stamped the flamenco dancer from the Travel to Spain set with my MISTI and colored her in with Copic Markers. I fussy cut her out and set her aside.

Next, I had this vision for what I wanted to do with the new Harlequin stencil, so I got to work. Taking a white cardstock panel, I blended it entirely with Catherine Pooler Coral Cabana Ink. Next, I placed the Harlequin stencil over the panel, and blended it with Catherine Pooler Rouge Ink. Finally, I repositioned the stencil so that the exposed diamonds were between the Rouge diamonds and applied a solid layer of Ruby Gemstone Glitter Gloss. I I removed my Harlequin stencil and set this panel aside to dry.

I heat embossed the sentiment “You flamenco me crazy” (so super cute, right?!) in white powder on black cardstock, trimmed it into a strip, and framed it with red cardstock. I trimmed down my dried glitter gloss panel to 4.125″ x 5.375″, adhered it to an A2-sized piece of red cardstock to give it a frame, and then adhered my sentiment strip and Travel to Spain dancer using foam tape. I also adhered a few Peppermint Jazz Sparkletz bits, and adhered the entire unit to an A2-sized card base!

For my 2nd project, I colored up both dancers from the Travel to Spain set in Copic Markers, fussy cut them out and set them aside.

Taking an A2-sized piece of white cardstock, I blended the entire panel with Mustard Seed Distress Ink. I then splattered the panel with Fossilized Amber Distress Ink. Next, using the Chevron stencil, I applied a solid layer of Sunshine Glitter Gloss. I removed the stencil and set the panel aside to dry.

Next, I took the Filmstrip Craft Die and die cut a filmstrip from white cardstock. I trimmed down the die cut to only have 1 film cut out and ink blended the entire piece in Fossilized Amber Distress Ink. I also distressed the edges of the die cut using Wild Honey Distress Ink.

I also used some Mustard Seed Distress Ink to blend a small piece of white cardstock entirely, stamped the sentiment “I’d run with bulls for you” (another SUPER CUTE SENTIMENT that I just adore!) in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. I trimmed this into a strip and framed it with a darker yellow paper, setting it aside.

I now was able to put the card pieces together. I trimmed my Chevron Glitter Gloss panel to a 4.125″ x 5.375″ panel and adhered it to an A2-sized piece of darker yellow cardstock. I used foam tape to adhere my Travel to Spain dancers, filmstrip die cut and sentiment. I also adhered some Desert Sky Shimmerz bits, and adhered the whole unit to an A2-sized card base.

And that’s how I made my cards!
