Happy Friday, Everyone! It’s a super special blog day for me, as I am participating in a collaboration between 2 of my favorite companies: Kindred Stamps and Sassy & Crafty!
For those of you who have been following me, you are most likely aware that I am fortunate to design for BOTH of these companies! So when I was informed that there was a collaboration in the words, I knew I wanted in!
Today’s collaboration is giving you pure Under-the-Sea vibes, and we are using the Salty but Sweet set by Sassy & Crafty and the Seas the Day set by Kindred Stamps!
I stamped the mermaid from Salty but Sweet, and the 2 seahorses from Seas the Day with my MISTI, colored them up with Copic Markers, added some white gel pen accents, fussy cut them out and set them aside.
I decided to make a slimline card for my collaboration project. I used Distress Ink to blend my ocean background, using (from top to bottom) Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon & Blueprint Sketch. Once blended, I spritzed with water and allowed the panel to dry. I finished it off by using the Kindred Stamps Pixie Dust Slimline Stencil and applying Diamond Gemstone Glitter Gloss with my Stencil Pal. I removed my stencil and let my panel dry.
Next, I used a hillside die to cut my sand mound, which I then used my go-to Distress Oxide Blend of Brushed Corduroy and Vintage Photo. I spritzed with water, then splattered Twiggy Brown Atelier Ink by Ink on 3 and Black Soot Distress Ink. I adhered this to my dry ocean panel.
I also used the Woodland Die Set by Stamp Anniething, as there was one super long branch looking die, and I figured this would make for great seaweed. I die cut 3 of these, and then used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink to ink blend them. I also then splattered them with some Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. I adhered these 3 seaweed branches to look like they were coming out of the sand.
I then took foam tape to adhere my Salty but Sweet Mermaid and my Seas the Day Seahorses. I also used the sentiment “Make a Splash” from Salty but Sweet as a sentiment strip, lightly distressed the edges with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, framed it with cardstock and adhered it directly to my card. I also adhered some Sea Level Sparkletz bits to my card as well for a little extra glitz.
I finished my card by mounting my panel to a piece of 8.5″ x 3.5″ Tranquil Teal Cardstock and adhering the entire unit to a Slimline Card Base.
And that’s how I made my project!
