Sassy & Crafty- Pickles: Party Animal Masculine Card

Hello Everyone! Today is a super exciting day for me because it is my first official blog post as part of the Sassy & Crafty Sassy Crew! I just have really fallen head over heels with all the amazing designs by Sassy & Crafty, and it has been a huge honor to begin working with their products on a regular basis!

For today’s project, I am featuring a card using the new Pickles- Party Animal set, which features the Sassy & Crafty zebra, Pickles, and is party of their incredible August release!

To create this card, I decided that I wanted to use a more masculine color palette. So, I went to one of my go-to’s: Blues and Reds!

First, I colored up my hat and sunglass wearing zebra with my Copic Markers, applied Nuvo Glaze to his glasses, allowed the Nuvo Glaze to dry, and fussy cut him out. I used exclusively markers from the R and BG family when coloring him up.

For my background, on white cardstock, I blended a light blue to teal ombré using It’s a Boy and All That Jazz ink by Catherine Pooler using blending brushes. I then spritzed it with water and also splattered some All That Jazz ink as well. I applied the Lipstick Squiggle stencil on top, and applied a layer of Gina K Designs Brilliant Blue Glitz Glitter Gel. I removed the stencil and allowed my panel to dry. Once dry, I framed this panel to an A2-sized piece of cardstock,

I also made a strip using Coral Cabana Ink and then going over the panel using the Lipstick Squiggle stencil and Rockin’ Red ink. I splattered this layer with more Rockin’ Red ink, and framed it with some dark blue glitter stock I had in my stash.

For my sentiment, I cut the sentiments “It’s your birthday”, “live it up you” and “Party Animal” into strips, and ink-blended the edges using Coral Cabana and It’s a Boy ink. I framed each of these sentiments with a different color cardstock.

I then adhered my Lipstick Squiggle Stencil strip, sentiments, Pickles the Zebra (all of these using foam tape), and a couple Sea Level Sparkletz bits (with Art Glitter Designer Adhesive) to finish up my card. I adhered my card to an A2-sized card base and that’s how I made this project!

Be sure to head on over to the Sassy & Crafty website to scoop up the Pickles- Party Animal set and the rest of the August Release goods!

I’ll be back soon with another Sassy & Crafty creation!

Until then, thank you for stopping by, and happy crafting!
