Kindred Stamps February Release- London Couple

Before we jump into today’s project, I wanted to let you know that I sometimes use affiliate links to share my favorite products. Don’t worry, these links won’t cost you a dime – they’re just little crafty helpers behind the scenes that help support me if you use them to make a purchase! Let’s dive into today’s creative journey together!

Hello friends! Before I start, I have to ask… Who is ready for a BLOODY good Kindred Stamps February Release?! I am on the docket to share my sneaks today for the very first set, London Couple! These 2 devious theater characters are some of my absolute favorite, and I am beyond excited to finally see them featured as Kindred characters!

I have 2 cards to share with you, so let’s get into the details!

Distress Watercolor Cardstock
Enamel Dots

For my first London Couple Project, I wanted to feature this couple together with some earthy and fiery tones. I love to get messy with Distress Spray Stain, and I thought that since this couple is rather messy in nature, it was the perfect opportunity to pair them together!

When I create with Distress Spray Stain, I think your paper choice is INCREDIBLY important. I have found that using Distress Watercolor Cardstock is the way to go, as they really help capture the vibrance of the Distress Spray Stains. I also recommend having both a water spray bottle handy, along with some paper towels (you’ll thank me later).

I also wanted to create a brick archway of sorts, so I broke out the Distress Brick Stencil, along with an arch die set from my stash. I blended my bricks using Distress Oxide Inks onto a light brown cardstock (not kraft, but more of a light tan), and then used my arch die to cut out the center!

For my 2nd and final London Couple project, I created a card that solely featured the barber character. I continued the use of Distress Spray Stain backgrounds, but I also wanted to find a way to utilize the razor image that is included with this stamp set as well!

Something that is sort of wild is that this card uses the exact same colors of Distress Spray Stain and Mica Spray that I used in the first card, but changed the Mica Spray Color and you really can change the overall look of the panel!

To create this card layout, I took some mid-tone gray cardstock and cut 2 strips to be 1.25″ x 5.5″ each. I then stamped out the razor image multiple times in Black Soot Distress Ink, and then also distressed the bottom long edge of each strip with the same Distress Ink. I then adhered these strips on top of the Distress Spray panel and it made for a wonderful background!

And there you have it! My 2 projects using the London Couple stamp set! As promised, I have my Copic Marker combinations to share with you as well for this stamp set!
