Before we jump into today’s project, I wanted to let you know that I sometimes use affiliate links to share my favorite products. Don’t worry, these links won’t cost you a dime – they’re just little crafty helpers behind the scenes that help support me if you use them to make a purchase! Let’s dive into today’s creative journey together!
Y’all I am stoked! Scrapbook.com was kind enough to send me the newest Distress Color, Lost Shadow, in advance, and I was able to create a handful of projects to share with you all as it releases today!
Lost Shadow is an AMAZING light gray color, and is light enough that, even though it lends itself very slightly to warmer tones, can blend well with your cooler colors too (it is a neutral, of course)!
I also have my VERY FIRST YouTube video uploaded to my channel to show how I used the new Lost Shadow color, so be sure to head on over to watch, like and subscribe!
As always, Tim Holtz has multiple different Distress products that were released featuring this new color:
Lost Shadow Distress Ink Pad
Lost Shadow Distress Ink Refill
Lost Shadow Distress Oxide Ink Pad
Lost Shadow Distress Oxide Reinker
Lost Shadow Distress Spray Stain
Lost Shadow Distress Oxide Spray
Lost Shadow Distress Embossing Glaze
Lost Shadow Distress Paint

Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 110 LB Cardstock
As you see my Lost Shadow projects, you are definitely going to see a trend of me using this with lots of golds, yellows, and just warm colors in general! For my 1st project, I wanted to go with an obvious blend to share, which is creating a background of blending Lost Shadow into Hickory Smoke, and then Black Soot. I love it. It blends so perfectly! I also sprayed some Lost Shadow Distress Oxide Spray over that background as well so that I had some specks of it!
For my smallest arch die, I actually took white cardstock, blended it with Lost Shadow Distress Ink, and then sprayed it with Lost Shadow Distress Spray Stain and I just LOVE the look that i got! It gives me moon vibes! I finished off this card by layering my smaller arch with a gold holographic larger arch (die cut from the Holographic Mirror Paper Pad), using a Rub-On sentiment that was big and bold, and also using some Gold Glossy Dots for a final bit of embellishment!

For my 2nd card, I knew you all would like to see an ombré of something this new Lost Shadow color would fade into! So, keeping in the spirit of warm colors, I decided to do something a little fiery! Because it’s a lighter color, it fades REALLY well into the lighter Distress colors, and you can use that as a base for what you want to expand to. For example, here I blended my Lost Shadow Distress Oxide Ink into Scattered Straw, and it went very nicely! I then continued my ombré by blending into Wild Honey, and finishing off by blending into Barn Door!
Now, I did have this really fun Thanks A2 Cover Plate Die by Scrapbook.com, and I thought this would be a fun time to use the Lost Shadow Distress Oxide Spray. I went ahead and die cut the panel 3 times from white cardstock, adhered them together, and sprayed with a couple pumps of the Lost Shadow Distress Oxide Spray! This gave a fun speckled effect!

For my final project, I wanted to do something beyond ink-blending, so I took my Lost Shadow Distress Ink Pad and dragged it across white cardstock! This gave a really fun ship-lap effect to my panel! I went ahead and layered it up with some patterned paper from the Sunny Lane Patterned Cardstock Paper Pad, and also framed my panel with some dark gray paper from the Playful Smooth Paper Pad! I applied more Rub-On Transfers for my sentiment, and played around with the black and gold sentiments because I thought those colors worked really well with the Lost Shadow color!
Of course, I have a gallery of more images to share of the projects I created so you can see each card from different angles!
