Pink & Main: Merry & Bright Cardinal Greetings

Before we jump into today’s project, I wanted to let you know that I sometimes use affiliate links to share my favorite products. Don’t worry, these links won’t cost you a dime – they’re just little crafty helpers behind the scenes that help support me if you use them to make a purchase! Let’s dive into today’s creative journey together!

Hello friends! Today I sharing a card featuring one of the adorable cardinals from the Winter Cardinals stamp set by Pink & Main! As a bonus, I also used their Pine Boughs stamp set to create my own patterned paper background that is just so perfect for this little cutie!

Below is a list of products used to create this card:

Pink & Main Products Used:
Winter Cardinals Stamp Set
Winter Cardinals Coordinating Dies
Pine Boughs Stamp Set
Embossing & Watermark Ink Pad
Frosting Embossing Powder
Magic Anti-Static Brush
Blessing Glitter Enamel Dots
Stop Sign Cardstock

Other Key Products Used:
Copic Markers
Distress Ink: Salvaged Patina
Catherine Pooler Inks: Spruce & Over Coffee
White Acrylic Paint

I started this card by coloring up the little cardinal sitting on a snow branch from the Winter Cardinals stamp set with my Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to fussy cut them out.

While I had the coordinating dies out, I also stamped the sentiment “May Your Days Be Merry & Bright” onto Stop Sign Cardstock using Embossing Watermark Ink, and then heat embossed the sentiment with Frosting Embossing Powder. I set the sentiment aside for later, along with the colored up image.

Taking a 4.125″ x 5.375″ piece of white cardstock, I blended from the top down using Salvaged Patina Distress Ink. I wanted an ombré effect where the Salvaged Patina color faded to white, so I didn’t blend as much towards the bottom of the panel. Once my ink blending was done, I splattered some water onto the paper for some bleach marks, and dried them with a clean microfiber cloth.

Using the largest pine branch from the Pine Boughs stamp set, I used Spruce Ink by Catherine Pooler to stamp the branches onto my background. Once I was happy with the amount of branches stamped, I then stamped the smallest pine cone image using Over Coffee Ink by Catherine Pooler. After my stamping was complete, I splattered some slightly watered down white acrylic paint onto my panel to give it a snowy effect. I let this panel dry entirely, undisturbed, for probably a good 20 minutes or so.

Once my panel was dry, I adhered it to an A2-sized card base, which allowed for a nice white frame around the panel. I then used foam tape to adhere my cardinal image and my sentiment. Finally, I finished off my card by placing some Blessing Glitter Enamel Dots.

Thank you so very much for stopping by and checking out my card! I hope this card inspires you to use the Pine Boughs set to create a fun background for one of the cardinals from the Winter Cardinals Stamp Set, or any other Pink & Main forest critter stamps you may own!
