Kindred Stamps August Release: Career Day Sanitation Workers

Before we jump into today’s project, I wanted to let you know that I sometimes use affiliate links to share my favorite products. Don’t worry, these links won’t cost you a dime – they’re just little crafty helpers behind the scenes that help support me if you use them to make a purchase! Let’s dive into today’s creative journey together!

Hello everyone! It’s Day 4 of Kindred Stamps August Release Sneak Peeks, and I am about to share a trio of cards that are just absolute GARBAGE… well… they contain garbage! I am pleased to share my projects that I created using the new Career Day: Sanitation Workers set!

This 4″ x 6″ set contains (2) Sanitation Workers, a Garbage Truck, and some super fun and trashy sentiments!

Let’s get to the projects!

Kindred Stamps Projects Used:
Career Day: Sanitation Workers
Tree Scene Craft Die
Dog House Craft Die (retired)

Other Key Products Used:
Copic Markers
Distress Oxide Inks: Tumbled Glass, Rustic Wilderness, Hickory Smoke & Black Soot
Colored Cardstock

First, I decided to use the Sanitation Workers set to create a scene card of the female worker image. I used the Dog House Craft Die and the Tree Scene Craft Die to look like my little worker is bringing trash to their truck in a neighborhood! With a little bit of distress oxide inking, I was able to give a good ombré to the dog house, trees and street cardstock.

I also grabbed a Cloud Builder Stencil from my stash to create a cloudy sky, and went ahead stamping a the sentiment “you put up with so much garbage” in the sky.

Blood Splatter Stencil
Snowfall Embossing Powder

Other Key Products Used:
Copic Markers
Distress Oxide Inks: Crushed Olive, Forest Moss, Brushed Corduroy & Walnut Stain
Distress Inks: Crushed Olive, Forest Moss, Brushed Corduroy & Walnut Stain
Colored Cardstock
Not So Heavy Metal Sequins

For my 2nd Sanitation Workers card, I made an infinity shaker using the male worker. I created a trash-stained background by using Distress Oxide Inks to blend up a splotchy background pattern. I then placed the Blood Splatter Stencil over it, and ink blended with the corresponding Distress Inks.

I thought the Not So Heavy Metal Sequins made for great shaker bits, because they really played up the colors of the yellow greens and the browns. I used Snowfall Embossing Powder to heat emboss the sentiment “birthdays are a bunch of garbage”, and popped it up with some foam tape!

This final card was a happy accident, because I used the leftover Distress Ink from the infinity shaker card that was on my glass mat and used an ink splotching technique to transfer the ink to paper! Once I got my paper all splotched up, I splattered some more ink spots onto it, and then stamped the Garbage Truck image multiple times in black ink to cover the panel.

I layered up my image with some colored cardstock and used the female worker image from the Sanitation Workers set. My sentiment was heat embossed in Snowfall Embossing Powder and I used some Not So Heavy Metal Sequins for embellishment!

And there you have it! All 3 of my completed Sanitation Worker Projects!
