Kindred Stamps February Release- Extended Familia

Hello Kindred Stamps Fans! It’s our February Release Week, and I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am to be sharing with you a collection of projects that I created using the new Extended Familia stamp set! This is one of my most favorite Kindred Stamps stamp sets ever, and I had such a fun time creating cards for each of these family members!

Be sure to stick around to the end of my blog, as I’ve got the Copic Marker Combinations for all 5 characters in the Extended Familia stamp set! Alright, let’s get to my 5-card Extended Familia collection!

Kindred Stamps Products Used:
Extended Familia Stamp Set
Floral Stencil
Card Basics Die Set
Prism Enamel Dots
Snowfall Embossing Powder
Embossing Ink Pad

Other Products Used:
Copic Markers
Distress Inks: Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold, Carved Pumpkin & Candied Apple
Vellum
Blending Cardstock
Pixie Spray

For my 1st Extended Familia stamp set, I used the Supersonic Hearing Cousin and wanted to create a card showcasing the brand new Floral stencil. This stencil is SO pretty, and I just know you’re going to love it as much as I do! I blended up a yellow base, placed the stencil over it with Pixie Spray, and then blended oranges and reds over the stencil. It created such a great glowing effect! I also used the butterfly detail stamp and embossed them onto a die cut circle of vellum for a background piece.

Pro-Tip: This is a stencil that is definitely a bit on the delicate side, so I highly recommend investing in some Pixie Spray! It’s a low-tack adhesive spray that is going to really help hold some of the more delicate parts into place!

Kindred Stamps Products Used:
Extended Familia Stamp Set
Casita Courtyard Paper Pack
Floral Tile Paper Pack
Card Builder Die Set
Whimsical Garden Stencil
Kindred Spirits Enamel Dots
Snowfall Embossing Powder
Embossing Ink Pad

Other Products Used:
Copic Markers
Colored Cardstock
Distress Inks: Wilted Violet & Villainous Potion
Lovely Lavender Glitz Glitter Gel
Sparkle Silk

For my 2nd card, I used the Flowery Sister image and created a card using so much floral purple glittery goodness! I used some of the new Casita Courtyard paper (the background frame) and the Floral Tile paper (Aqua strip in the center of the card). They pulled the card together so nicely, and both of the packs are just stunning! For a real wow-factor with this card, I used the Whimsical Garden Stencil with some Lovely Lavender Glitz Glitter Gel!

Pro-Tip: Sometimes, patterned paper makes for such a nice background frame, like used in the card above! However, you can always sneak a die cut or 2 out of it, as long as you cover it up!

Kindred Stamps Products Used:
Extended Familia Stamp Set
Lightning Stencil
Dancing Waters Stencil
Card Basics Die Set

Other Products Used:
Copic Markers
Colored Cardstock
Transfer Gel Blanco
Sunshine Yellow Flock
Hello Yellow Neon Flock
Distress Ink: Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire, Villainous Potion, Mustard Seed & Carved Pumpkin.
Sparkle Silk

For my Fair Weathered Aunt Card, I wanted to display 2 different types of weather. I used the Dancing Waters Stencil on a yellow & Orange ombré background, where I applied a transfer gel and then some Sunshine Yellow flock to give a warm and sunny feel. Then, for my 2nd side, I used the Lighting stencil on a mid-tone blue to dark purple ombré, with a transfer gel, and applied some neon yellow flock. I cut both panels in half to display both possible weather scenarios on the card, and it just works so perfectly for this aunt!

Pro-Tip: Sometimes, you don’t have the exact stencil you need for a project… so you have to improvise! For example, the Dancing Waters stencil doesn’t necessarily look like a sun and rays, but by using a die cut and the right colors, it gets the idea across!

Kindred Stamps Products Used:
Extended Familia Stamp Set
Snakeskin Stencil
Floral Tile Paper Pack
Galactic Paper Pack
Snowfall Embossing Powder
Embossing Ink Pad

Other Products Used:
Copic Markers
Colored Cardstock
Stacked Deckle Dies
Distress Inks: Vintage Photo & Mowed Lawn
Not So Heavy Metal Sequins

For my Future-seeing Uncle from the Extended Familia set, I wanted to make a card playing off with the different colors and textures of his garments. I thought the brown stony patterned paper from the Galactic Paper Pack went really well with the theme I was going for. I also layered 2 deckled die cuts, one of the green print from the Floral Tile Paper Pack, and one as an ink-blended panel of the Snakeskin stencil. I love the green and brown tones of this card!

Pro-Tip: Don’t be afraid to let pattern papers be the star of your card. Sometimes, you just have the perfect print in your stash that works better than any sort of stenciled background. But, you can always add some stenciled elements onto your card with smaller die cuts!

Kindred Stamps Products Used:
Extended Familia Stamp Set
Snowfall Embossing Powder
Embossing Ink Pad
Prism Enamel Dots

Other Products Used:
Copic Markers
Colored Cardstock
Mountain Top Die
Distress Inks: Peacock Feathers & Hickory Smoke
Distress Oxide Inks: Pumice Stone & Hickory Smoke

For my final Extended Familia project, I used the Strong Sister to create a scene card of her on top of a mountain. I had a fantastic mountain card in my stash that worked so perfectly to perch her on top of. I love to also do ink-blending when I am putting a scene together, because it adds some really nice shading and highlight areas to die cuts!

Pro-Tip: Sometimes, when you place a colored up image onto a scene card, it helps to add a little bit of shadow under the images. This can easily be achieved by using some either Warm Gray or Toner Gray Copic Markers to lightly add some colors under your images!

And there you have it, my 5 projects using the brand new Extended Familia stamp set!
