Boo, You’re Dope!

Hello everyone! Y’all know how much I love a good naughty card, and making them for Halloween is no exception! When I saw the Sheets & Giggles set by Whimsy Stamps, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this card… which was make these ghosts highly spirited!.. Get it?

Fun Fact: I was a tad stumped with how to turn these ghosties into spirits high on afterlife. I went online and found that “boo” is, at times, a slang word/part of a phrase used to describe marijuana…. How perfect is that?!

I stamped my spirits in Blackout Ink by Ink on 3, and then colored up my ghosts with a simple Copic Marker Coloring Palette, which is mentioned at the end of this post. I fussy cut each of the ghosts out and set them aside.

For my background, I took an A2 piece of Blending Cardstock, and blended it with Catherine Pooler Lime Rickey Ink, leaving the center slightly lighter than the rest of the card. Then, I blended the edges with Catherine Pooler Grass Skirt. I spritzed the panel with water for some bleach spots, and then splattered Catherine Pooler Deck the Halls Ink and Tim HoltzBubbling Cauldron Distress Mica Spray. The Mica Spray required a little bit of heat setting, as it typically does not dry that quickly on my blending cardstock (for heavy Mica Spray backgrounds, I do suggest using the Distress Heavystock).

Using the Pot Leaves Stencil by Kindred Stamps, I first used Grass Skirt ink to blend over the stencil, keeping the stenciling lighter towards the center of the card. Then, keeping the stencil in place, I blended over the edges of the panel with Deck the Halls Ink.

For my sentiment, I used the Lawn Fawn Finley ABC’s to die cut the word “BOO” out 3 times (the top layer is Slate Cardstock by Gina K Designs, Distressed with Black Soot Distress Ink and Bubbling Cauldron Distress Mica Spray Splattered on top). I stacked the letters so they were 3 dies thick. For my sentiment, I used the Dope set by Kindred Stamps, heat embossing the sentiment “Your Dope” in Snowfall Embossing Powder on Black Cardstock.

Using Foam Tape, I adhered my ghosts to the upper center part of the panel. I then used liquid adhesive to glue down the die cut words and sentiment. For some finishing embellishments, I used some green die cuts from the Oh Christmas Tree Sparkle Blend, which really gave me some extra glitz!

And there you have it! Some ghosts who really love that green!

As promised, here are the coloring combinations I used to make these ghosties!
