Kindred Stamps September Release- Kindred Rockers

Alright, who’s ready to rock and roll?! It’s time to get a start on Kindred Stamps September Release (affiliate links are used in this blog post), and I’m introducing a brand new set that’s going to make you sing with excitement: Kindred Rockers! It’s been a while since we’ve featured our amazing Kindred Stamps Creative Team on a stamp set, and we all decided it was time to start a band!

This stamp set features each of the 5 Creative Team members (Audra, Brianne, Marcia, Mindy & Myself) either playing an instrument or singing to our hearts content. This set also contains so many amazing sentiments! Whether you’re needing to congratulate someone, wish them a Happy Birthday, or just send them a quick reminder that you’re grateful for their friendship… this set is going to be perfect for you!

I have 4 projects in my Kindred Rockers collection, so let’s get started!

Kindred Stamps Products Used:
Kindred Rockers Stamp Set
Splinters Stencil
Snowfall Embossing Powder
Kindred Stamps Embossing Pad
Kindred Stamps Liquid Adhesive

Other Products Used:
Copic Markers
Blending Cardstock
Distress Ink: Candied Apple and Barn Door
Catherine Pooler Midnight Ink
Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo
Deco Foil Transfer Sheets- Black
Colored Cardstock
28 Lilac Lane- Back in Black

My first Kindred Rockers project features me (!!!) as a guitar player! I wanted to focus on a black, white and read color palette. I love the included sentiment “You Rock”, which I heat embossed in Snowfall Powder onto black cardstock. I also fussy cut out the sentiment as well, to have a more customized shape.

For my background, I blended up a red ombré background using Candied Apple and Barn Door. Using my Splinters stencil, I applied a thin and solid layer of Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo, let it dry, and used a heat transfer method to foil it in Black Deco Foil

Pro Tip: Foiling is a great tip to make a card look extra special. It may take a little bit of extra time to dry, but it is well worth it in the end!

Kindred Stamps Products Used:
Kindred Rockers Stamp Set
Star Slimline Stencil
Snowfall Embossing Powder
Kindred Spirits Enamel Dots
Kindred Stamps Embossing Pad
Kindred Stamps Liquid Adhesive

Other Products Used:
Copic Markers
Blending Cardstock
Distress Ink: Twisted Citron & Mowed Lawn
Catherine Pooler Midnight Ink
Wild Lilac Glitz Glitter Gel
Colored Cardstock

For my 2nd Kindred Rockers project, I used the image of Audra playing a handheld keyboard and really focused on a purple and lime green color palette! After coloring up my image with my Copic Markers, I blended up my background using Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks. I also flicked some Catherine Pooler Midnight Ink just to have a little bit of extra detail.

To create my glitzy star background, I placed the Star Slimline Stencil over my card, and masked it so that I was only using the full stars and not the partial ones. I applied a thin and solid layer of Wild Lilac Glitz Glitter Gel and let it dry.

When it was time to put this card together, I did the same technique regarding the sentiment that I used in the first project, where I heat embossed the sentiment in Snowfall Embossing Powder onto colored cardstock, and then fussy cut it out. To give this card a little extra embellishment, I finished it off with some Kindred Spirits Enamel Dots.

Pro Tip: Have you invested in slimline products? You can still use them to create non-slimline cards! Play around with your slimline crafty goods to find ways to adapt them into your other sized projects!

Kindred Stamps Products Used:
Kindred Rockers Stamp Set
Mosaic Stencil (Retired)
Sentiment Strips Die Set
Snowfall Embossing Powder
Kindred Spirits Enamel Dots
Kindred Stamps Embossing Pad
Kindred Stamps Liquid Adhesive

Other Products Used:
Copic Markers
Blending Cardstock
Distress Ink: Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, Dusty Concord, Kitsch Flamingo & Picked Raspberry
Catherine Pooler Midnight Ink
Electro Pop Poppin’ Pink Glitz Glitter Gel

For my 3rd Kindred Rockers project, I used the image of Brianne playing the drums and made an A2-sized card. I made a rather simple background, where I masked off half of the panel, diagonally. On the left side, I did a purple ombré of Distress Ink: Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and Dusty Concord. I also distressed this half with water and then splattered Catherine Pooler Midnight Ink.

On the right side of the panel, I did another Distress Ink ombré of Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry. I used the Mosaic Stencil to apply Picked Raspberry Distress Ink first, repositioned it, and then applied a thin and solid layer of Poppin’ Pink Glitz Glitter Gel

I finished this card off with a sentiment strip stating “Drum Roll Please” (which can perfectly be paired with the “Congratulations” and “Happy Birthday” sentiments also provided in the set), embossed in Snowfall Embossing Powder, and also finished with some Kindred Spirits Enamel Dots.

Pro Tip: Some stencils are reposition-able! You can apply ink over them once, move it, and then apply ink again to get a whole new look! Some stencils, this is intentional, while others aren’t… but that doesn’t mean they won’t look cool!

Kindred Stamps Products Used:
Kindred Rockers Stamp Set
All Over Rainbows Stencil
Card Basics Die Set
Snowfall Embossing Powder
Kindred Stamps Embossing Pad
Kindred Stamps Liquid Adhesive

Other Products Used:
Copic Markers
Blending Cardstock
Distress Ink: Kitsch Flamingo, Mustard Seed & Salvaged Patina
Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel
I Love the 80’s Sparkle Blend
Banner Die Set
Acetate
Colored Cardstock

For my final Kindred Rockers project, I went ahead and created a shaker card using Marcia and Mindy’s images! The Card Basics die set works really well for creating circular shakers, as there are 2 circle sizes included, which create a frame. You can then use the largest circle to die cut a piece of acetate for the window!

To make my background, I used washi tape to make a striped pattern. I then used Kitsch Flamingo, Mustard Seed and Salvaged Patina Distress Inks to go ahead and blend up my background. I placed my All Over Rainbows over my background and applied a thin and solid layer of Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel, which created a subtle detail and textured background.

I used my I Love the 80’s Sparkle Blend with my shaker window, which I propped up with foam tape. I then heat embossed my sentiment on a teal banner die using Snowfall Embossing Powder, and matted that banner with a hot pink banner die. I used some I Love the 80’s bits for extra embellishment!

Pro Tip: Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel is a great choice to add a subtle detail to your background. I loved pairing it with the All Over Rainbows stencil, because there are just thin rainbow lines to apply the Glitz Glitter Gel over, which makes for the perfect pairing!
