Kindred Stamps January Release- Out of the Bag

YOU GUYS!! It’s time for the very 1st Kindred Stamps Release of 2021! And I am so excited to be kicking this release off with the new set, Out of the Bag! This adorable 4″ x 4″ set features a hat wearing feline, his blue-haired twin friends, and a little fish!

I created 4 projects with this set, so let’s get to all the details!

Other Products Used:
Square Nesting Dies
Distress Ink: Barn Door
Distress Oxide Inks: Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers & Salty Ocean
Button Embellishments
Copic Markers

For my first Out of the Bag project, I made a slider card where the blue-haired twins slide out of a box together! I colored up the twins and the feline with my Copic Markers, fussy cut them out and set them aside.

Taking a slimline panel (3.5″ x 8.5″), I masked off an area to expose a triangle, which I blended with Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink. I then moved the tape to expose another triangle, which I blended with Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink. I also stamped the sentiment “you’re really someTHING” in black ink.

I cut out the sliding area with a craft knife and a ruler. I die cut 2 squares of red cardstock, and distressed the edges with Barn Door Distress Ink. I adhered the squares to each other and adhered them to the card with foam tape, so that my twins could slide in and out.

I used a quarter with foam tape to adhere the twins to the sliding element. I adhered my feline with foam tape as well to the left side of the box. To finish the card off, I adhered some button embellishments and mounted the panel to an slimline card base! My project was finished!

For my 2nd Out of the bag project, I wanted to feature just this little fish. So I colored him with Copic Markers, fussy cut him out and set him aside.

I took an A2-sized piece of blending cardstock and distressed the edges with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink. I placed the Dancing Waters stencil on top, and blended over it with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink. I then splattered some Peacock Blue Atelier Ink onto the panel.

Using a scrap piece of red flock (you’ll see where the scrap piece came from in a moment!) that had the negative impression of the Retro Waves stencil, I die cut out a circle, and then a slightly larger circle from white cardstock. I adhered the fish right in the center of the flock circle, and adhered the flock circle to the white circle.

I heat embossed the sentiment “Have a one of a kind birthday” in white powder on red cardstock, framed the strip in white paper, and adhered it to the card base. I then used foam tape to adhere my fish circle onto the sentiment strip. I finished the card off by adhered a few Peppermint Jazz Sparkletz pieces to the panel, adhered it to a card base and my project was finished!

Other Products Used:
Oval Nesting Dies
Catherine Pooler All That Jazz Ink
Ink on 3 Peacock Blue Atelier Ink
Buttons
Copic Markers

For my 3rd project, I made some simple gift tags using each of the characters included in the set! I colored them all with Copic Markers, fussy cut them out and set them aside.

For each of the tags, I die cut an oval from white blending cardstock and then a slightly larger oval from red cardstock. Using the white oval, I placed the Swirl stencil overtop and blended the All That Jazz ink. I then also splattered the piece with the Peacock Blue ink. I adhered the swirl oval to the red oval. I also stamped the sentiment in red ink onto white paper, cut it into a strip, framed it with peacock blue paper, and adhered that to the bottom of the tag.

I adhered each of the characters with foam tape, adhered a few buttons, punched a hole on the top, and pulled a piece of blue and white twine through! My tags were complete!

Vellum
Rectangle Nesting Dies
Red Flock
Buttons
Copic Markers

For my final project, i wanted to incorporate some flock! So I prepared a 4.125″ x 5.375″ panel of white cardstock, where I placed the Retro Waves stencil over the top, applied a solid layer of Transfer Gel, let it dry entirely, and then ran it through my laminator, and removed the flock piece! I really love working with flock and find it really easy! I then adhered the flock panel to an A2-sized piece of peacock blue cardstock to frame it.

I Copic colored each of the images, fussy cut them out and set them aside. I actually ended up removing the tail from the feline, and also cut the twins apart as well, because I knew I would strategically place them so you couldn’t even tell.

I used Rectangle Nesting Dies to cut out a piece of vellum and then a slightly smaller peacock blue rectangular frame. I adhered the frame to the vellum, and then adhered the rectangle to the flock base. Using foam tape, I adhered each of the characters to the card so they were all together.

Taking a strip of peacock blue cardstock, I heat embossed the sentiment “Have a one of a kind birthday” in white powder, and adhered the strip to the card with foam tape.’

I finished this card off by adhering some red buttons and some half pearl embellishments! I adhered the panel to an A2-sized card base and was finished!

And those are my 4 Out of the Bag projects!
