Happy 25th of the Month!! Can I just take a moment to say that I’m sitting here in disbelief that Christmas is 3 months away! I am so very grateful that I’ve gotten a head start on my holiday cards, because I am so excited to be getting those out shortly!
That being said, it’s time for another Crafty Christmas Club Blog Hop!
For this month’s hop, I created something a little different: a card with minimal coloring, and no sentiment!
I started with a 5.25″ square piece of white cardstock. Using Ink on 3 Fadeout Ink, I stamped a few images from the Lawn Fawn Ho Ho Holidays set to create 2 reindeer and Santa in his sleigh! I colored these images in with the Black 100 Copic Marker. I then stamped the images again onto full-back adhesive Post-Its, fussy cut them out, and used them as masks to cover up the images. I also die cut a large circle from the Hero Arts Infinity Circle Die Cuts set, and used it to cover up where I wanted the moon.
From the center/moon’s edge to the ends of the panel, I used blending brushes to blend the following Distress Oxide Colors: Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean & Chipped Sapphire. I then took Black Soot Distress Ink and blended the edges of the card. I spritzed the card with water, let it dry, and then splattered the card with watered down white acrylic paint.
I removed the moon mask and used Weathered Wood Distress Ink to water color some discoloration to the moon.
I removed the masks covering my images, and mounted the panel to a black 5.5″ square card base! I finished the card by adhering a couple Ocean Waves Sparkletz bits!
We have so much holiday inspiration to share with you, so be sure to check out each stop on this hop for all the fun!
