For the Love of Summer Blog Hop: Sweet Summer Strawberries Card

Hello everybody! It’s time for this week’s edition of the For the Love of Summer Blog Hop! This week’s theme is Sweet Summer! So we’ve all got some really fun project to share using our favorite summer sweets!

Now, one of my favorite things about summer is farm stands! There is just something so amazing to me about walking up to a series of stands that have every in season product item available! And you just KNOW that whatever you buy is going to be the ripest fruit or vegetable you’ve ever sunk your teeth into! And that includes strawberries!

So, today I am sharing a project using the new Victoria Awesome and Gnome It set by Stamp Anniething! I stamped Victoria using Gina K. Designs Obsidian Amalgam ink. I colored Victoria up using my Copic Markers, and fussy cut her out.

Next, a 2″ x 5.5″ strip of white paper and I used Catherine Pooler inks to blend a strawberry-inspired ombré. From top to bottom, the colors I used are as follows: Garden Party, Melon Ice, It’s a Girl, Be Mine, and Samba. I spritzed this layer with water, and let it dry.

Next, I took the Heart and Dots stencil by Kindred Stamps and applied it to my ombré strip. I then took Gina K Black Glitz Glitter Gel, and applied a solid layer using my Stencil Pal. I removed my stencil, cleaned it off immediately with warm and soapy water. I left my Glitter Gel piece aside to dry undisturbed.

Once my ombré strip was fully dry, I applied it using Art Glitter Glue to an A2-sized card base. I figured out where I was going to adhere Victoria. Then, using Samba ink, I stamped the sentiment “I Really Dig You” from the Adelaide Hiya Gnomie set.

Using foam tape, I adhered Victoria to my card. Then to finish my card off, I used some Peppermint Jazz and Coconut Palms Sparkletz for a little embellishment. And that’s my card!
