This stencil is a little different than other stencils because it has sentiments too!
When I saw this stencil, I wanted to do something a little different, and decided to use a grayscale color palette!
First, I took an 4.125″ x 5.375″ piece of white cardstock and blended it up with Distress Oxide Ink (top to bottom): Pumice Stone, Hickory Smoke, & Black Soot. I spritzed my panel with water and let it dry. Once my panel was dry, I then used my Black Soot Re-Inker, slightly watered it down, and flicked Black Soot specs onto the panel. I also had some silver sparkle liquid that I splattered as well.
Next, I placed the Aim for the Stars stencil over the top of the panel, and adhered an even layer of Therm O Web Transfer Gel. I set the panel aside to dry entirely (I always wait a minimal 30 minute just to make sure it dries). While drying, I turned my laminator on so it would be ready for some foiling.
Once my Transfer Gel was all dry, I placed a piece of Black iCraft Deco Foil on top of my panel (black side up), sandwiched it with parchment paper, and ran it through my laminator. I let my panel cool down, and then removed the layer of foil to reveal my black foiled stars! I adhered this layer to an A2-sized piece of charcoal cardstock.
I took the sentiment “Aim for the stars” and blended it onto a strip of gray cardstock with Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink. I framed the strip with charcoal cardstock and adhered it to my card with foam tape. I then adhered some black and white sequins, adhered the panel to an A2-sized card base, and I was finished!
