Crafty Festival Blog Hop: Typing Out Happy Fathers Day

Hey everyone! It’s time for the 4th and last edition of the Spring Celebrations Crafty Festival Blog Hop, and we couldn’t finish it off without celebrating Father’s Day!

I FINALLY had the perfect excuse to break out my Lawn Fawn You’re Just My Type and Love Poems set! I colored up the desk, lamp, type writer with paper and mouse from You’re Just My Type with Copic Markers. After everything was cut up and cut out with my Brother Scan n Cut, I used the “Happy Father’s Day” sentiment from Love Poems and stamped it onto the paper in the type writer.

I also took a Lawn Fawn Simple Wavy Banners Die, cut out an aqua colored banner, and stamped the sentiment “Just a little note to say…” from Love Poems in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink.

Next, I took the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackable, used the largest frame, and die cut a stitched rectangle from white cardstock. Using the same Outside In Rectangle Die, I cut out a slightly diagonal piece of Knock on Wood teal paper, which I intended to use as the flooring. I also took the Stitched Rectangle Stackables Die and cut out an A2-sized Stitched Navy Rectangle.

On my white cardstock, I took the heart stamp from You’re Just My Type and stamped it in a pattern to fill the panel. I used the following Distress Oxide inks for the pattern (top to bottom): Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, and Peacock Feathers. Then, I took my Peacock Feathers re-inker, slightly watered it down, and used a water color brush to flick small specks of Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink onto my heart-patterned panel.

Once dry, I adhered my floor piece to the bottom of my heart patterned panel. Then, I adhered my heart patterned panel piece to the navy cardstock.

I used foam tape to mount my mouse, desk, light, type writer piece and banner die to my panel. I mounted my panel to an A2-sized card base. To finish my card off, I used some Apple Green and Caribbean Ocean Nuvo Crystal Drops to add some accents to my card.

And that’s my project!

Now we have even more Father’s Day inspiration ready to share with you, so be sure to stop at each stop on the hop!
