Crafty Christmas Club Blog Hop- March 2020

Hey Everyone!

I am so excited to be hopping along with one of my favorite group of crafters today for the March installment of the Crafty Christmas Club Blog Hop! Be sure to stay tuned for the end of my blog to check out where else you can get some Christmas inspiration, if you haven’t hopped there already!

For this month’s Christmas project, I am sharing these adorable elves from one of my favorite holiday sets, the Kindred Stamps 2019 Advent Calendar and Advent Sentiments (retired).

Now, what I really love about this Blog Hop is that it gives us all a chance to 1) use those holiday stamps and products which usually sit untouched for a good chunk of time and 2) allows us to get a head start on holiday cards!

For my project, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock down to 4.125″ x 5.375″. I used my blending brushes to blend a tri-color ombré from some red Distress Oxide Inks (top to bottom: Candied Apple, Fired Brick, & Aged Mahogany). I spritzed the ombré panel with some water and let it dry.

Next, to get that poinsettia inspired background, I took the Kindred Stamps Christmas Sweater Stencil, sprayed it with Pixie Spray, placed it on top of my card panel, and applied a layer of Ruby Gemstone Glitter Gloss with a Stencil Pal. I set this aside to dry.

Detour: I really love using the Kindred Stamps Glitter Glosses, and it looks like they may be on their way into retirement soon. If you’ve been wanting to try a Glitter Gloss, now is the time because they are also on sale! Check them out on the Kindred Stamps website here.

Once dried entirely, I adhered my glitter glossed panel to an A2-sized piece of red cardstock.

Next, I adhered a strip of that same color of red cardstock to a strip of black cardstock to frame it. I heat embossed the sentiment “What the elf” in the center of the strip, and then adhered one of my elves to each side, which were colored up with Copic Markers!

I adhered my sentiment strip with elves with foam tape to my card, and adhered this panel to an A2-sized card base.

To finish this card off, I adhered some red and silver gems from the 2019 Kindred Stamps Advent Calendar to the card for a little extra glitzy embellishment.

And that’s my card!

Now be sure to check out the other crafters in our hop and see what holiday inspiration they have come up with for you!
