Welcome to Las Vegas Card + Instagram Giveaway!

Most stamp sets carry a theme, whether it’s a certain fandom represented, a specific celebration, or something even seasonal.

Sometimes, it’s fun to take a themed set and use it for something different, which is what I did with the Kindred Stamps Travel to Brazil set!

The set comes with a soccer boy and a Carnivale dancer girl. There was something about the girl stamp that made me think about Las Vegas Show Girls! So that was my inspiration for this card.

Detour: If you haven’t heard about it before, Kindred Stamps does a monthly 3″ x 4″ set themed to a specific country. If it’s a non-English speaking country, there is always a sentiment included that is “hello” written in the country’s native language! You can check out the available Travel Sets here!

I had also recently acquired the Kindred Stamps Doodle Uppercase Alphabet set, and wanted to use it for this set as well. I had tried to think of something that would symbolize Las Vegas and would use letters, and what’s more iconic than the Welcome to Las Vegas sign?

I started as I always do, I colored up my images. I had originally colored up 6 girls, all with different skin, hair and outfit colors. For my final project, I omitted one of the girls so I had an odd number. I colored my girls from the Travel to Brazil set with the following Copic Marker color palette (from left to right):

  • Girl 1:
    • Skin: E0000, E25, E27, E29
    • Hair: W6, W8, W10
    • Purple Outfit and Head Pieces: V04, V06, V09
    • Pink Feathers: RV13, RV14, RV17
  • Girl 2:
    • Skin: E0000, E00, E04, E11
    • Hair: R24, R35, R37
    • Green Outfit and Head Pieces: YG01, YG05, YG07
    • Blue Feathers: B00, B02, B04
  • Girl 3:
    • Skin: E0000, E23, E25, E27
    • Hair: E77, E79, W10
    • Yellow Outfit and Head Pieces: Y13, Y15, Y17
    • Orange Feathers: YR04, YR07, YR09
  • Girl 4:
    • Skin: E0000, E00, E04, E11, E21
    • Hair: E74, E77, E79
    • Pink Outfit and Head Pieces: RV13, RV14, RV17
    • Yellow Feathers: Y13, Y15, Y17
  • Girl 5:
    • Skin: E0000, E33, E35, E37
    • Hair: E35, E37, E39
    • Blue Outfit and Head Pieces: B00, B02, B04
    • Purple Feathers: V04, V06, V09

I then colored up my “LAS VEGAS” Doodle Uppercase Letters with the following Copic Marker Colors:

  • Letters: R24, R35, R37

I cut out all my images with my Brother Scan and Cut.

Next, I designed the Las Vegas sign in Cricut Access and cut it out with my Cricut Explore Air 2, and sized it so it would fit well for an A7-sized card. I adhered all my pieces together, and then adhered my “LAS VEGAS” Doodle Uppercase Letters with my Tape Runner XL. I also cut a strip of red cardstock (for the sign’s stand) and a strip of gray cardstock (for the ground) and shaded the edge with Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink.

It was time to work on my “Night Time on the Las Vegas Strip” 5 color ombre. On a 4.875″ x 6.875″ white piece of cardstock, from bottom to top, I blended the following Distress Oxide Inks: Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot. I adhered my shaded gray cardstock to the bottom of the blended panel and trimmed the edges to fit. I mounted this panel to an A7-sized piece of black cardstock.

It was time to start putting the pieces together. I adhered the Vegas sign to my red piece of shaded cardstock, and lined it up to be as centered as possible. I then took foam squares and mounted each of the girls in a line on the bottom of the card. Finally, I took gold and white sequins and adhered them for embellishment.

And that’s how I made my Las Vegas card using the

and Doodle Uppercase sets by Kindred Stamps.
