Kindred Stamps September Release- Mother May I

Before we jump into today’s project, I wanted to let you know that I sometimes use affiliate links to share my favorite products. Don’t worry, these links won’t cost you a dime – they’re just little crafty helpers behind the scenes that help support me if you use them to make a purchase! Let’s dive into today’s creative journey together!

Hello friends! It’s the last full week of September, so it’s time for the next Kindred Stamps release! For this month, I got to play with the new 4″ x 8″ set Mother May I, which is going to give you all those black and white horror feels! This set comes with 3 full size character images, a spooky house image, AND a mini scene stamp that fits PERFECTLY inside of the TV Time Craft Die!

Let’s get into those spooky details for how my 3 cards came together!

Kindred Stamps Products Used:
Mother May I Stamp Set
TV Time Craft Die
Card Basics Dies
Hexagon Tabs Stencil
Snowfall Embossing Powder
Embossing Ink Pad

For my 1st Mother May I Card, I wanted to show how that mini scene stamp works so perfectly inside of the TV Time Craft Die! I colored up my little scene in black and white, and then hand cut it so that it fit perfectly inside of the opening of the tv! I wanted to create a scene that also had some vintage horror vibes, so notice the hexagon carpet made with the Hexagon Tabs stencil, along with making the television set brown instead of your expected black!

Pro-Tip: To get your scene to fit inside of the television, and so that you have a little extra space to adhere the scene behind the die cut, take your die cut television, place it over the scene, lightly trace the scene cut out with pencil, and then had cut the scene out so that you have a little bit of extra space between the pencil outline and where you cut!

Mother May I Stamp Set
Box Card Craft Dies
Spooky Hotel Paper Pad
Snowfall Embossing Powder
Embossing Ink Pad

For my 2nd Mother May I project, I still channeled those black and white movie vibes, and created a box card! I colored up the creepy hotel clerk, his deceased mother, and the house image in grayscale, and also used black and white papers to create the box card die cut! I also thought the Spooky Hotel paper worked really well with this set, particularly the black and white patterns! I used the spider web pattern on the outside cut outs of the box!

Pro-Tip: Coloring in grayscale is easy! I recommend using the Neutral Gray Copic Markers (or whatever similar colors and markers you have on hand). I then look at images for reference and just pay attention to what sections are lighter and which are darker. I keep that in mind as I’m coloring! Usually, I just pull out all of my Neutral Gray markers, lay them in front of me, and come up with combinations on the go!

Mother May I Stamp Set
Vintage Hotel Keys Dies
Card Basics Dies
Spooky Hotel Paper Pack
Snowfall Embossing Powder
Embossing Ink Pad

For my final Mother May I card, I wanted to play with the Vintage Hotel Keys Dies as I also felt they fit so perfectly with this stamp set. I used the younger prequel hotel clerk for this card, and colored him up in color opposed to grayscale. The key and keychain were really easy to create, and the sentiment “Worlds best son” fit perfectly inside of the keychain! I almost felt like it was a vacation souvenir item you may see in a gift shop! I also utilized the Spooky Hotel Paper Pad once again for my striped background pattern, which worked so well for this project!

Pro-Tip: You can intertwine the key ring die cut from the Vintage Hotel Key dies by cutting a slit in the die cut, weaving it through your key and key chain, and then adhering the cut portion behind the dies! This way, it looks like they items are actually on a continuous keyring!

And there you have my 3 cards that I’ve created using the new Mother May I stamp set! I have a little bit of information to share with you regarding the September Release!
