Crafty Christmas Club Hop- Deck the Halls!

It’s official. Christmas is a whopping TWO MONTHS away! All year, I’ve been working on my Christmas Card stash, and it’s just crazy to think that they are getting sent out in a handful of weeks! Because it’s the 25th of the month, it’s time for another Crafty Christmas Club Blog Hop!

Today I am sharing this cute little “no die” interactive card using the Festive Furries set by Kindred Stamps!

I hand-drew my little front porch scene with a ruler, Copic Multi-liner, and a lot of patience. Actually, full disclosure, I sketched the scene in pencil first, went over it with the Multi-liner and then erased the pencil marks. I stamped the little sloth from Festive Furries to hang on the door as a wreath would. I then colored in the sloth, wreath, door, steps and windows with Copic Markers!

I used full-back adhesive post-it’s to cover the colored areas. I then went over the background in Tea Dye Distress Oxide Ink. Then, I placed the Kindred Stamps Distress Brick stencil over top and applied a solid layer of Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide Ink. Removing the stencil, I also went over the edges of the windows with some Scattered Straw Distress Oxide Ink for a little bit of glow.

Using a ruler and an X-Acto Knife, I cut the door on the top, right and bottom sides, leaving the left side untouched. I then used a bone folder to score the door so that it had a nice crease to open and close.

For the fun little interactive element, I colored up the Santa penguin from Festive Furries with Copic Markers, fussy cut them out with no border, ran a brush-tip Copic Multi-liner along the edge and set it aside.

Next, taking a smaller piece of paper, I blended up Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink, where I blended it darker on the edges and lighter in the center. I then took the Christmas Sprinkles Stencil from Kindred Stamps and applied a solid layer of Barn Door Distress Oxide Ink. I figured out where I wanted to adhere my Christmas Sprinkles panel behind my door panel, and adhered it together.

I placed my panel in my MISTI, opened the door, and stamped my sentiment “Don’t get your tinsel in a tangle” where I wanted it. I also took the penguin, tucked them slightly inside the door, and adhered them down to stick. Also, for a finished edge, I also lined the interior side of the door with a piece of green cardstock.

And that’s my finished Christmas Card!
