Let’s dive into today’s creative journey together!
Hello friends, and happy Kindred Stamps November Release! For my sneaks, I’m summoning all the crafty frozen fractals to show off the new Snow Family stamp set! This 4″ x 8″ stamp set contains 4 characters from your favorite Norwegian Fjord, along with a gorgeous Ice Castle stamp as well!
I created (5) different projects to share with you, so grab your favorite blanket to keep you warm and let’s get into the details!
ALSO! Stick around until the end of this post for my Copic Marker Combinations for all of the Snow Family images!

Snow Family Stamp Set
For my first project using the Snow Family set, I wanted to feature the Snow Queen with her Ice Castle as a scene card. I used a blend of Distress Oxide Inks to color up my background, and then I splattered it with Opaque White, White Snowflake and Turquoise Blue Paper Splatter Water Color! I just adore how the night sky has an icy glow, as it’s so perfect for this setting!
Pro-Tip: When ink blending snowy mounds, I recommend using white paper, and then ink blending the top edge of each mound with a light blue color. I usually lean towards Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink!

For my 2nd Snow Family project, I wanted to feature the 2 sisters with their favorite snowman buddy. I paired them with the sentiment “there’s no one I’d rather build a snowman with” as it fits this group of characters PERFECTLY! I really wanted to pull in a print that reminded me of Norwegian patterns and fabrics, so I grabbed this floral wallpaper patterned paper from the Nanny paper pack, and I think it definitely did the job! I also used the Snowfall Embossing Powder to make my sentiment really pop on its sentiment strip!
Pro-Tip: If you ever get stuck on what sentiment to use for a card, look at the set and see if you can figure out which sentiments are directed towards a specific image or character in the stamp set. It might seem like an obvious tip, but once you pick out your sentiment, it can really help shape the rest of your design!

Clear Embossing Powder
For my 3rd Snow Family Card, I used the Younger Sister and her Ice Man to create a love-themed card! I kept this design pretty simple. I picked (3) colors in their outfits that I felt would coordinate well together, and then ink blended them into an ombré on white paper. Here, I used Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Walnut Stain Distress Oxide Inks. I was REALLY surprised how well the Peacock Feathers blended into the Walnut Stain, and was incredibly pleased with how this turned out! I stamped the sentiment “I Love You Snow Much” in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink, and then heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder to make it pop!
Pro-Tip: If you have picked what colors you want for your ink blend, but are unsure of what order to use, think about 2 things: the color wheel, or staging the colors from lightest to darkest. For example, if you have a blend that contains both yellow and purple colors, you’re most likely not going to want to put these colors next to each other as they are opposites on the color wheel. They’ll create “mud” when mixed (but hey, if that’s what your end goal is, go for it)! Also, say you are just blending up a family of blue colors, going from lightest to darkest is going to most likely be the easiest way to get that seamless blend!

Card Basics Die Set
Merry & Bright Paper Pack
Clear Embossing Powder
For my 4th Snow Family project, I decided to make a mini card featuring the snowman in this set. He’s a smaller guy, so I knew that he would work well on a smaller card layout if I was only using him. I pulled in the Merry & Bright paper pack and selected the teal snowflake pattern to die cut a stitched square out of, provided in the Card Basics Die Set. I also stamped out the sentiment “may I interest you in a warm hug?” in Versafine Clair Twilight Ink and then heat embossed it in clear powder!
Pro-Tip: Some images are smaller than others, and think about that when you’re designing your card. For example, this snowman is probably about half of the size of the other characters in this set. If you are going to feature ONLY him on a card, he isn’t going to occupy that much space on an A2-sized card, or larger, if used alone. Think about some other elements you could bring into your card to fill in some of that unused space, such as a fun layout using various shapes or even creating a scene card!

Country Quilt Stencil
Snowfall Embossing Powder
Embossing Watermark Ink Pad
For my final Snow Family project, I wanted to feature the Ice Man with a bit of stencil work. I pulled in another ombré ink-blended background using color inspiration from his outfit, settling on Frayed Burlap, Hickory Smoke and Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide Inks. I then placed the Country Quilt stencil over the background and used a Brass Door Knob Paper Glaze. Once dry, it gives the background a nice shine! I also thought the sentiment “Ice Ice Baby” is hysterical, so I stamped it out and embossed it in Snowfall powder!
Pro-Tip: Pixie Spray is your best friend when it comes to stenciling with a paste! The low-tack adhesive secures your paper to the stencil and heavily reduces the chance of “under stencil smooshing” (this is a professional term not copy-written by yours truly). Keep in mind that Pixie Spray isn’t for everyone. I recommend that if this is new to your craft stash, test it out a few times to get the hang of it before relying on it for a project!
