Let’s dive into today’s creative journey together!

This card was so fun because the images are incredibly joyful. I loved playing with the deep tones of red, blue and green to bring this card together! I also found it fun playing with different gray Copic Markers to bring each of the images from the Flurry of Fun set to life. The polar bear uses predominantly warm gray markers, the penguin uses toner gray, and the snowman uses cool gray! This card ends up being a great reference point for seeing how different each of those markers looks when used!
For my arched background, I decided to go with a deep green night sky, because I thought it would work well with the blue gingham print. I was happy to find out that it absolutely looked perfect! I chose some Catherine Pooler Spay inks for the sky, and then used Pebble for the snow on the bottom. Truthfully, when blending up the bottom, it was initially darker than what I had wanted to go for. However, I figured I would do white acrylic paint splattering to help add a snowy effect to the sky and ground, and I think it assisted in slightly making that snowy ground appear lighter!
The sentiment for this card comes from the Spotlight Winter Sayings stamp set. However, the real star of the show for that set is the coordinating die set. The coordinating dies cut so tightly around the sentiments, your hands will severely thank you for the hard work you prevented them from doing. I decided to go for a white sentiment on Barber Shop card stock, because it would pop!
Lastly, I cannot recommend the Chill in the Air paper pack enough. It has some really fantastic patterns, and relies on a pretty neutral winter color palette. I love that there is a lot of blue present, but not ALL blue! There are nice inclusions of green, tans, reds and grays too, which rounds this pack out nicely!
