Before we jump into today’s project, I wanted to let you know that I sometimes use affiliate links to share my favorite products. Don’t worry, these links won’t cost you a dime – they’re just little crafty helpers behind the scenes that help support me if you use them to make a purchase! Let’s dive into today’s creative journey together!
Hello my spooky friends! Today I have a quick blog post to share featuring a Halloween card that I created with some really fun products from Scrapbook.com that are full of tricks and treats! I was recently sent the new Vacation Smooth Paper Pad, and I just fell in love with the color palette. I KNEW there would be a way that I could incorporate these colors into a Halloween-themed card, and boy was I right!

Below is a list of products that I used to create this card:
Haunted House Build & Layer Decorative Die Set
Trick or Treat Build & Layer Decorative Die Set
Vacation Smooth Cardstock 6″ x 8″ Paper Pad
Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheets
Black Gloss Pops of Color- Large 4 oz.
Artis Liquid Adhesive
Distress Inks: Crackling Campfire & Black Soot
Simple Stitched Hillside Borders by Lawn Fawn
Sparkle Silk
I also have a few details to share about how I created this card, so let’s get into it!
I started this by die cutting out all of the pieces to create my haunted house. Now, being upfront, there are a lot of small pieces that are included with the Haunted House die set, and I HIGHLY recommend using a double-sided adhesive sheet in lieu of liquid adhesive to adhere them all together… particularly the house frame and window frame pieces! I like to use my double-sided adhesive sheets when working with intricate die cuts that I know have a lot of thin pieces, and there is a high likelihood that I would put too much liquid adhesive on them.
In terms of colors for the house, I REALLY love the use of blue-greens to give a ghostly effect. There was a light blue-green and a dark blue-green offered in the Vacation Smooth Cardstock pad, and I knew it would be the perfect fit for this card. As a backing piece, I used a golden yellow color included in the paper pack, because I wanted the house to look like someone was home!
My background was fairly easy to create as well. Taking the orange paper from the Vacation Smooth Cardstock Pad, I distressed the edge with both Crackling Campfire and Black Soot Distress Ink to help give it a more “night sky” feel, trying to create an arch of sorts to frame the house. I also splattered some Black Soot Ink and Sparkle Silk onto my background to add some detail.
I die cut a hill from the dark blue-green cardstock, but, because I didn’t want the house totally blending into it, I heavily ink blended some Black Soot Distress Ink to darken it up quite a bit. I popped my die-cut “Trick or Treat” sentiment onto my hill, and also applied some Black Gloss pops of color to add my final bit of embellishment!
