Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a trio of projects that I created using the newest edition to the Kindred Stamps Naughty Collection: Dope! And, guess what? As an extra bonus for this release, there is also a new Pot Leaves stencil coming out as well that coordinates perfectly with this set!
I’m so excited to show you these projects, so let’s get to it!
Kindred Stamps Products Used:
Dope Stamp Set
Pot Leaves Stencil
Other Products Used:
Blending Cardstock
Gina K Designs Cardstock
Distress Ink (Pine Needles, Old Paper, Shabby Shutters & Bundled Sage)
For this project I colored each of the images in the Dope set with Copic Markers, and fussy cut them out. I took a 4.125″ x 5.375″ piece of blending cardstock, stamped a pattern of Dope images with Pine Needles Distress Ink, and also distressed the edges of the panel with the same Pine Needles Distress Ink as well. I adhered this panel to an A2-sized piece of dark green cardstock for framing.
For the green strip, I took Gina K’s Key Lime Cardstock, trimmed it to 2.5″ x 5.5″, placed the Pot Leaves stencil over it and blended the Pine Needles Distress Ink. I also distressed the edges with Pine Needles Distress Ink, and framed the strip with dark green cardstock.
I trimmed the sentiment strip to say “you’re my best bud” with my guillotine trimmer, adhered it together, and set it aside.
The last piece I needed to work on was the circle, which was die cut from white cardstock, and blended with Old Paper, Shabby Shutters and Bundled Sage Distress Ink. I framed the circle with a slightly larger die cut of the same dark green cardstock, and adhered the images directly to it.
I adhered all the pieces together, mounted it to an A2-sized card base, and this project was finished!

Distress Spray Stain- Black Soot

iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Sheets- Lily Pad
iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo
To make my 2nd Dope project, I colored up 8 pot leaves, a lighter and a joint with Copic Markers, fussy cut them out and set them aside. I also die cut a circle from Gina K Designs’ Key Lime Cardstock, stamped the sentiment “Your love gets me high”, and adhered the pot leaves to go around the circle. I also adhered the joint and lighter to the image as well. I set this whole unit aside.
For the background, I took dark gray cardstock and trimmed it to 4.125″ x 5.375. I distressed the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink and then sprayed Black Soot Distress Spray Stain onto the panel. Once dry, I applied the Pot Leaves stencil over the panel, tacked it down with some tape, and applied a solid layer of Transfer Gel Duo. I removed the stencil, set the panel aside to dry completely, and washed the stencil immediately.
Once the Transfer Gel dried (which can take some time… sometimes a little over an hour), I warmed up my laminator, placed a Lily Pad Foil Transfer Sheet (green side up) on top of my panel, sandwiched it into a piece of parchment paper, and ran it through my laminator. I carefully removed the transfer sheet and got a really cool foiled background! I adhered this panel to an A2-sized piece of Key Lime cardstock, and adhered the circle piece with foam tape! I adhered the whole unit to an A2-sized card base and was finished!

Distress Spray Stain- Black Soot
Nuvo Crystal Drops- Morning Dew

White Embossing Powder
For my final Dope project, I colored up 2 pot leaves and the bong with my Copic Markers. I fussy cut them out and set them aside.
Next, I took a 4.125″ x 5.375″ piece of light gray cardstock and distressed the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink. I then placed the Pot Leaves stencil over the panel and ink blended entirely with Black Soot Distress Ink. After removing the stencil, I sprayed Black Soot Distress Spray Stain on the panel and set it aside to dry. Once dry, I adhered it to an A2-sized piece of dark gray cardstock to give it a frame.
Next, I cut a 1.75″ x 5.5″ piece of white blending cardstock. I taped it to conceal the bottom portion, and then blended, from top to bottom, Black Soot, Hickory Smoke and Pumice Stone Distress Oxide Inks. I removed the tape from the bottom portion and repositioned it to leave only the white area exposed. I then blended, from top to bottom, Gathered Twigs and Walnut Stain Distress Oxide Ink. I figured out where the placement of the bong was going, and placed a light mark. I then placed the Smoke stencil onto the panel, in a position where it would look like smoke coming out of the bong. I ink blended Picket Fence Distress Ink over the stencil, removed it, and got a nice subtle smoke-effect. To bring a little more attention to the smoke, I very lightly outlined it with some Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops. I adhered this panel to a strip of Key Lime Cardstock and set it aside.
For my sentiment, I heat embossed “You’re dope” in white embossing powder on black cardstock. I cut this to size and set it aside.
Now I had all the pieces to construct my card. I took my cut out images, adhered them to my smoke strip, and adhered the entire unit to my pot leaves panel with foam tape. I then took the sentiment and adhered that with foam tape as well. I adhered the panel to an A2-sized card base and was finished!
And those are my 3 Dope projects (literally!!)!

Hi Justin! Your cards are totally DOPE!!! So much so that I’m not usually a stencil person but I now want the Pot Leaves Stencil SO BAD because I want to make the foil background too! You give wonderfully well worded & thorough descriptions of how you created your cards but unfortunately I’ve never used Transfer Gel Duo or Foil Transfer Sheets before so I’m still a little lost as to how you created it. Could you recommend any tutorials or other resources that may be helpful?
Thanks so much for sharing these cards! I had no idea Kindred Stamps had a “Naughty Collection” but you can bet I’m gonna go check it out now! 😉 Hope you have a wonderful Friday!
Sincerely,
Christine aka The Stampin’ Ninja
Hi Christine!! First, let me just say how much I appreciate your comment and you taking the time to give me such kind words. It is TRULY appreciated!!
When it comes to foiling, I would start by checking out Thermoweb, as they are the actual creators of the product. I know I have heard some foiling tips from Lynnea Hollendonner, who creates for Thermoweb often!! Jennifer McGuire, I feel, would also have some great tips, just as she seems to always be on the ball with this stuff (that’s me assuming there’s A JM video somewhere LOL).
Please know that with the Duo transfer gel, your are supposed to be able to use it with heat (a laminator) or without (using the pressure from your die cutting machine). I always have done with heat, as I have an affordable laminator from Amazon.
If you have any more questions, please let me know!! Sometimes I don’t check comments on here as often as other places, so you can always DM me on Instagram @justanotebyjustin OR email as well at justanotebyjustin@gmail.com.
Thanks again for all the love!! Happy crafting!
