Hey Everyone, Justin here! Today I am so happy to be sharing this super fun monochromatic Christmas card that I made using the new Snowflake Bursts & Christmas Indent Ornament Die Sets, part of the i-Crafter October Release!
What I really love about so many of the i-Crafter die sets is that they come with some adorable sentiments that can be die-cut and added to your project. When it comes to Christmas card sentiments, you can’t have any more of a basic necessity than a “Merry Christmas” sentiment, and the Christmas Indent Ornament die set has one that is just perfect!
Using just plain white cardstock, I die cut the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from the Christmas Indent Ornament die set and set it aside.
Next, for the main panel of the card, I wanted to utilize the Snowflake Bursts Die, but not in the traditional blue and white snowy palette. So, taking a 4.125″ x 5.375″ piece of blending cardstock, I used the i-Brush Blender Brushes to blend up a 3-tone red ombré from dye ink. I spritzed this panel with water, since the ink was also water reactive, and set it aside to dry.
Once my panel had dried, I took the Snowflake Bursts die set and placed it so it would almost arch around the inner side of the top left corner, and ran it through my die cutting machine using my Self Mending Cutting Deck as part of my die cutting sandwich. This cut out the large snowflake burst portion as an entirely separate item.
Taking the Snowflake Bursts die cut piece, I used a paper piercer to poke each little super intricate area out of the die cut, and to “open up” the snowflake so it gave it some dimension.
I adhered my die cut panel to an A2-sized piece of darker red cardstock, which also showed through the die cut portion as well. I used a liquid adhesive to adhere my Snowflake Burst die cut piece exactly into where it was cut out from. I also used the liquid adhesive to adhered the “Merry Christmas” sentiment in the bottom right corner as well. To finish this card off, I took some various jewels and sequins and adhered them to my card for some extra glitz. I used a tape runner to adhere the panel to an A2-sized card base, and I was done!
I hope this card leaves you with some monochromatic holiday inspiration!! Thank you for stopping by my blog, and happy crafting!
