Hey Everyone! It’s time to click your heels together 3 times and say “There’s no place like my craft room…”, because you’re gonna wanna get your hands on some of these incredibly fun i-Crafter October Release goodies!
Today, I am showing off the new Tiny Home 3D die set in a fun rainbow slimline card!
For those of you who have followed me and have gotten to know me a tad outside of just crafting, you will know that I just adore the world of Drag, which includes the television show RuPaul’s Drag Race. When I first saw this Tiny Home 3D die set, it reminded me of one of the runway looks of Season 9 winner Sasha Velour! Picture below!
I wanted to take the idea of this little house, the rainbow, and the saying “There’s no place like home”, and transform it into a card!
Making this house is INCREDIBLY simple, and all you need is some type of bone folder or sturdy flat edge to score your paper, and some adhesive.
There is an extra tab on the roof and on one of the sides of the house’s walls that you use to adhere the portions together.
I also adhered a black roof on top of my existing white roof, and I colored the door to my house with a red Copic Marker.
For this slimline card, I took a 3.25″ x 8.25″ piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and blended a diagonal rainbow ombré with Distress Oxide Inks. Top Right Corner to Bottom Left Corner, the colors are in this order: Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citrón, Salty Ocean & Wilted Violet. I then spritzed with water, let dry, and adhered to a black slimline card base. I always use the slimline size of 7″ x 8.5″, and then fold the short side in half and score it for a card front measuring 3.5″ x 8.5″.
Next, I die cut out the “H”, “M”, and “E” from the Tiny Home 3D set in white, along with 2 hearts. I also then took out my Alphabet, Carly set and die cut out the words “There’s No Place Like”. I then laid each line individually onto my card, starting with “There’s”, made sure evertything was lined up the way I wanted, placed a thin strip of Therm-o-web Purple Tape over the letters to keep them in line, removed them off the panel, applied adhesive to the back of the letters, and then carefully reapplied the letters to the panel so they would adhere. This was a great way to make sure my letters and lines were all spaced the way that I wanted and not crooked!
I finished off my card by adding some Rainbow Sparkletz bits, and that’s how I made my card!
I just think this card is so perfect for either a new home owner, to send to someone for Pride, or just for a big fan of the Wizard of Oz!
