Let’s Get Silly Blog Hop- Almost Cat Crazy Card

Hey Everyone! It’s time for this weeks edition of the What to Make When You Hibernate Blog Hop! And today, we’re sharing all things silly!

For this project, I pulled out my Cattitude set from The Rabbit Hole Designs, and knew that the sentiment “One cat short of crazy” was exactly the silly sentiment I was looking for. I also colored up the kitty that was lying on their back sleeping, figuring they would be the perfect addition to this card.

For my cat, I colored them up with the following simple Copic Marker color palette

  • Body: R00, W1, W2, W4, W5
  • Stomach: W0, W1

For my background, I wanted to do something simple and fun with, so I grabbed my Mandala Stencil from Sweet Sentiment. Now, I got this as part of my January Coloring Class, but recently Jammie posted the stencil as a standalone item on her store for purchase!

I cut a 4.125″ x 5.375″ panel and placed my stencil. I ink blended the background in the following Distress Oxide Inks (from top to bottom): Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon, Carved Pumpkin & Mustard Seed.

I then splattered my finished stencil panel with Fun Stamper’s Journey Sparkle Silk. Once dry, I mounted it to an A2-sized black cardstock panel.

I took a scrap black cardstock strip and heat embossed my sentiment in Alabaster Embossing Powder by Brutus Monroe. I adhered my kitty with my Thermoweb Tape Runner XL, cut my strip to size, and mounted it with foam tape.

I adhered my card to an A2-sized card base and paired it with a lined A2 Royal Blue Envelope from Paper Source. And that’s how I made my card!
