Kindred Stamps February Release- Wild and Free

Hullo, everyone (ps, that’s not a typo!). Y’all know that Kindred Stamps release week is one of my favorite times of the month, and I am over the moon with excitement to show you my set of projects using the new Wild and Free set!

The Wild and Free set has 4 character stamps (but 6 characters total) of a Scottish arrow-shootin’ princess and her family! This set pairs perfectly with the brand new Arrows stencil, also releasing on Friday with the rest of the goodies, and the new Card Builder Basics Die set! So let’s get shootin’ to my projects!

For my first Wild and Free project, I colored up my Scottish Princess with Copic Markers and fussy cut her out. Setting her aside, I began to work on my project.

I took the stitched rectangle die from the Card Builder Basics Die Set, which measures to 4″ x 5.25″, placed the Arrows stencil over top, and blended over it with Catherine Pooler Juniper Mist ink. I distressed the edges of this panel with Catherine Pooler Stone Blue Ink, and adhered it with Kindred Stamps Liquid Adhesive to an A2-sized piece of Gina K Designs Blue Cardstock to frame it. I set this panel aside.

Next, I die cut the larger (blue cardstock) and smaller circle (blending cardstock) from the Die Builder Basics set. I used the arrow from the Wild and Free set to stamp out a wonky pattern on the smallest circle in Stone Blue ink, and also distressed the edges with the same ink. I then stamped the sentiment “kind heart fierce mind brave spirit” in Juniper Mist ink onto the circle. I then adhered the smaller circle to the larger blue circle with Kindred Stamps Liquid Adhesive.

Now I could begin constructing the end part of my card. Using foam tape, I adhered the princess and the sentiment circle to my card. I also adhered some of the blue embellishments from the Sunflower Sky mix and adhered them to the card with Kindred Stamps Liquid Adhesive, and used the same adhesive to adhere this to an A2-sized card base. This project was completed!

For my 2nd project, I wanted to use the dad from the Wild and Free set because I had such a fun time color him up! So after I finished using my Copic Markers with him, I fussy cut him out and set him aside.

I used the stitched rectangle from the Card Builder Basics die set on chipboard. Taking Vintage Photo Distress Ink, I used my foam blending tool to distress the edges of the chipboard panel. I then took the Celtic Knot Stencil over the panel, and used Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide Ink to blend onto the chipboard. I removed the stencil, and adhered the chipboard panel to a green A2-sized piece of Gina K Designs Cardstock with Kindred Stamps Liquid Adhesive.

I made a sentiment strip using the “Best Dad Ever” sentiment from Wild and Free by heat embossing it in white powder onto chipboard, and then framing it with the same green cardstock I used to frame the main panel. Using foam tape, I adhered the sentiment strip and the dad to the main panel. I finished up this card by using my Kindred Stamps Liquid Adhesive to glue on an embellishment mix of Chocolate Mint sequins, Winters Evergreen Sparkletz, and Natural Buttons with the same adhesive, and then adhering the whole panel to an A2-sized card base. My 2nd project was done!

For my 3rd Wild and Free project, I used every character in the set to just make a general Happy Birthday card! I colored up the Princess, Mom, Dad, and 3 Little Brothers with Copic Markers, fussy cut them out and set them aside.

Next, I took an A2-sized piece of blending cardstock and placed the Lattice Stencil over it. In a diagonal motion from left to right, I ink blended Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink. I removed the stencil and then placed the Arrows Stencil directly over my panel to do some layered stenciling. I applied a solid layer of Black Soot Distress Ink.

For my next part, I took the stitched circle die cut from the Card Builder Basics Die Set and cut out a piece of white blending cardstock. I blended a solid layer or Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink over the circle. I took the Celtic Knot Stencil, placed it over the circle, and ink blended with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. After removing the stencil, I also distressed the edges with with the Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I wanted to make a sentiment strip that just read “Happy Birthday”. I cut a 5.5″ piece by about .5″ of white blending cardstock. In the center, I stamped the sentiment “Happy Birthday” from the Wild and Free set in Versafine Clair Ink, poured Clear Embossing Powder over it, and heat set it. I then distressed the edges of the strip with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and framed the sentiment with blue cardstock. I was now ready to put the elements of my card together!

Using Kindred Stamps Liquid Adhesive, I glued the circle die cut to my ink blended card base. I then glued the Dad on top of the circle. Using foam tape, I adhered the Princess, Mom and Little Brothers around and in front of the dad to add some dimension. I also adhered the sentiment strip with foam tape as well. Finally, I finished off this panel by adhering some Heavy Metal sequins for embellishment, and adhering the card panel to an A2-sized card base! This project was done!

For my final Wild and Free project, I wanted to incorporate some plaid and a forest scene. I colored up my Princess, fussy cut her out and set her aside.

Taking an A2-sized piece of blending cardstock, I placed the Skinny Plaid Stencil over it and ink blended the panel almost entirely in Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink. I then took Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink and blended the corners of the panel with the stencil still on it. I die cut an oval out of the center of the panel and set it aside.

Taking a 2nd A2-sized piece of blending cardstock, I blended a forest scene with the Forest stencil, using both Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide Ink. It’s hard to see, but I also used the Cloud Builder Stencil with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink to blend a cloudy sky as well! I stamped the sentiment “Stay wild like your curls” in the sky with Versafine Clair Ink.

To put this card together, I used Kindred Stamps Liquid Adhesive to adhere the oval window layer on top of the forest scene layer. I then used foam tape to put the Princess onto the card. I finished this panel off by adhering SO MANY buttons from the Sunflower Sky Shaker Mix, along with some Winters Evergreen Sparkletz to the forest portion! I adhered the unit to an A2-sized card base and my final project was finished!
