All About Peaches and Eggplants Cards

Hello everyone! Today, I’m bringing it back to the Kindred Stamps Naughty Sets, and am showing 2 projects I made using the Kindred Gets NaughtyDM Me stamp set!

Now, you all know that I think the Naughty sets are just absolutely MUSTS for my craft stash, because I love me a good tongue-in-cheek sentiment or image. However, you can use this set for a project that is as PG or R-rated as you’d like!

For this set, I used the same concept and style to create 2 different cards, one featuring the eggplant, and one featuring the peach. So, as I explain these cards, I’m just going to run through once, and let you know the colors I used for each individual card.

First, taking a 4.125″ x 5.375″ piece of white cardstock, I took my respective fruit stamp from the DM Me set (and YES, I googled before writing this blog, and an eggplant is indeed a fruit!), inked it up with Gina K Obsidian Amalgam Ink, and stamped the image multiple times to cover the panel, allowing it to also go off the panel as well.

Since I had the stamps out, I also took a 5-thick stack of Full-Adhesive Post-Its, stamped the image as many times as I could fit on the top Post-It, and fussy cut them out to make masks. I set the masks aside.

Next, using Copic Markers, I colored all of my fruit up in the following colors:

Eggplant:
Purple Flesh: V04, V06, V09
Green Stem: YG11, YG13, YG17

Peach:
Pink-ish Flesh: R11, YR12, YR14
Brown Stem: E55, E57
Leaf: YG11, YG13, YG17

After I had all my DM Me fruit colored up, I masked them with my Post-Its.

Using Catherine Pooler Ink, I blended from the edge of the card towards the center, allowing the panel to be lighter in the center. I also splattered ink as well. I used the respective Catherine Pooler Inks:

Eggplant
Whole Panel Blending: Sweet Sixteen (whole panel), Pixie Dust (applied 2nd, just the edges)
Splatters: Grape Crush

Peach
Whole Panel Blending: Bellini (I just used 1 ink for this one)
Splatters: Party Dress

I removed all of the masks and had my finished background.

Next, I adhered each respective panel to the following Gina K Designs A2-sized panel of cardstock:

Eggplant: Plum Punch

Peach: Coral Reef

Next, I stamped out the speech bubble stamp from the DM Me set with Gina K Amalgam Ink onto white cardstock, and fussy cut it out with no border. I then took a black Copic Multi-liner and ran it along the edges. I flipped the speech bubble for the peach card and used the back side as well. Using Catherine Pooler Ink, I blended the speech/text message bubbles with the respective colors and stamped the respective sentiments in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink:

Eggplant
Ink Blending: It’s a Boy
DM Me Sentiment: “You can slide into my DMs anytime”

Peach
Ink Blending: Garden Party
DM Me Sentiment: “Wanna come over?”

I adhered each of the speech bubbles to a 4.25″ long strip of the same Gina K Cardstock of the respective card, and then adhered the strip to the card with foam tape.

I then adhered the respective embellishments to each card:

Eggplant: Violet Blossom Sequin Tin Bits (retired)

Peach: Peach Slices and Ice Sparkletz

I adhered each panel to an A2-sized card base, and my card was finished!

I really think that, for this being a naughty set, the projects turned out really pretty! And, for the peach image, you really could use just the peach with a sentiment from any set to make a really cute summer themed, or just peach themed, project (wouldn’t it be super cute to use with a “hope your day is just peachy!” sentiment?)

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I hope this inspires your next tongue-in-cheek project! And don’t forget, Kindred Stamps: Kindred Gets Naughty sets don’t get restocked when they sell out! So, grab the DM Me set while you can!

Happy Crafting!

  1. Staaaap it! 🤣🤣🤣 These cards are hella “cheeky”. They’re not obvious but when you get it, ooooh boy! Nice work on the coloring BTW….
