For the Love of Summer Hop: Wanderlust Amusement Park Sunset

Hello Everyone! It’s time for the last edition to this month’s series of For the Love of Summer Blog Hop, and today’s theme is Wanderlust! We are celebrating all the fun outdoor places that just seem to go hand-in-hand with summer!

For my project, I wanted to do something theme park related, and I remembered this fun Carnival Craft Scene Die that I had received in the limited edition Kindred Stamps Bananas Box (retired, but a very small amount becoming available at 8 AM PST on July 3rd, 2020 if you missed it) which depicted a theme park landscape. With that, I knew exactly what I wanted out of my project!

First, I took a 4.25″ x 2″ piece of black cardstock and die cut out my Kindred Stamps Carnival Craft Scene Die, leaving a little bit of a black cardstock platform under to serve as the ground. I set this piece aside.

Next, I took a 4.125″ x 5.375″ piece of white cardstock and wanted to ink-blend a sunset background. Using blending brushes and Catherine Pooler Inks, I blended the following colors (top to bottom): Pixie Dust, Be Mine, Orange Twist, & Tiara. I spritzed the layer with water, and then splattered it with Fun Stamper’s Journey Sparkle Silk. I let this layer dry entirely.

Once dry, I took my Carnival Craft Scene Die piece and adhered it to the bottom of the card using Art Glitter Designer Adhesive. I then mounted this piece to an A2-sized panel of black cardstock to give it a nice frame.

For my sentiment, I thought the scripty “Hello Summer” from the Kindred Stamps Hello Summer set fit just perfectly. I stamped the sentiment using my MISTI in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink right above my theme park, on the right side of my card. I adhered a few bits from the Rainbow Sparkletz pack using Art Glitter Glue, adhered my panel to an A2-sized card base, and was done!

Now we’ve got loads more Wanderlust inspiration to share with you, so be sure to hop along and see what everyone has created!

  1. Love, love, love both the card and the background. Going to try it today. 😊 And guess what, the carnival silhouette die is available by itself at Kindred Stamps, as of this morning.
