Hello Crafty Lovers! Today I am so excited to FINALLY be sharing a project using the Sexy Friends set by Kindred Stamps. Now, when I saw “finally”, I mean that this fashionista has been colored up and on my desk since January! I had gotten so caught up and distracted with other projects that I had kept pushing my Sexy Friends colored up images to the side!
Since I had already colored up my fashionista in Copic Markers and cut her out a while back, I set her aside on my desk and dove right into some ink blending.
For this card, I took a 4.125″ x 5.375″ piece of white Neenah 110# Cardstock, cut with my Guillotine Trimmer, and inked up a pink ombré of Distress Oxide Inks (top to bottom): Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick (how perfect for this set), and Spun Sugar. I spritzed this panel with water and let it dry. I then took my Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Re-Inker, placed one drop onto my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat, watered it down a tad, and used an old watercolor brush to splatter some Picked Raspberry spots onto my background.
Once my panel was dry, I took the Kindred Stamps Damask Stencil, sprayed it with a light layer of Pixie Spray, and tacked it down to my panel. I then took Kindred Stamps Rose Gold Glitter Gloss with my Stencil Pal and applied a thin, but solid, layer over my stencil. I removed my stencil, set my panel in a location to dry undisturbed, and immediately cleaned off my stencil.
Next, I took some scrap white and silver patterned paper from my stash and used the Stamp Anniething Hello Die, die cut it 3 times, and then “glue-stacked” (this is a new Justin crafty term that means gluing layers of the same die cut together). I then took a piece of light pink cardstock, trimmed it to be about 1″ x 4.25″ wide, and framed it with a piece of hot pink cardstock. I figured out where I would place my “hello” die cut, masked the sentiment “Hello Lover” from Sexy Friends so that I was only inking up “Lover”, and stamped it to my light pink strip using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. I then used Art Glitter Designer Adhesive (I just call it Art Glitter Glue) to adhere my “hello” glue-stacked die cut, and adhered my fashionista to be above the “Lover” sentiment.
By now, my Glitter Gloss panel was dry (and omg, that Rose Gold Glitter Gloss is just incredible!). I framed the Glitter Gloss panel with an A2-sized piece of hot pink cardstock. Using foam tape, I adhered my fashionista sentiment strip to the lower portion of my card, and adhered my panel to an A2-sized card base!
And that’s how I made my card!
