TRHD June 2020 Release- Space- Infinity and Beyond

Hey there everyone! It’s time for The Rabbit Hole Designs, LLC. Release week, and welcome to Day 1 of our Inspiration Hop! This release is all about SPACE, and today we are featuring the brand new 4″ x 6″ stamp set Space- Infinity & Beyond! Be sure to stick around to the end of the blog for the Inspiration Hop Order and some giveaway information!

This set comes with 2 different spacemen that are just the cutest, a handful of really fun space-themed sentiments, and even a little cow to jump over your moon!

For my project, I knew I wanted to use the spaceman swinging on the moon! I decided I would take a whack at making a galaxy background.

Because I wanted my spaceman directly onto my galaxy background, I stamped them in the upper right portion of my 4.125″ x 5.375″ panel in alcohol marker safe black ink. I had to extend the swing lines ever so slightly, so I did so with a Copic Multiliner. Before coloring, I stamped my image again, but onto a full-back adhesive post-it, using the residual ink from the 1st impression (2nd generation stamping). I fussy cut this mask out, cutting out the swing lines entirely, and set it aside.

I colored up my images using Copic Markers and covered my image with my post-it mask. Next, I took out my Distress Oxide inks to begin my galaxy background. I first did a layer using a random splotchy pattern of Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers & Wilted Violet. Taking a blending brush, I then went over this entirely with Black Soot. I then went back in with the original 3 colors and built up a little more color so it wasn’t so muted. First, I spritzed this layer with some water so it looked a tad dappled and blended the colors more. Once dry, I took some white acrylic paint, watered it down just a tad, and flicked it using an old watercolor brush. Once the white paint specks were dry, I then flicked some yellow gold metallic water color onto the background as well.

Once everything was dry, I removed my mask to show my colored-up spaceman. There were only a couple white areas, which were very easily touched up using my Copic Multiliner. Because I blended over the swing lines, I went back in with my Multiliner to darken them again.

I took some black cardstock and heat embossed the sentiment “I always have space for you” in white powder, trimmed it, and adhered it to purple cardstock to frame it. I was now in the home stretch of my project. I took my entire panel and adhered it to an A2-sized piece of black cardstock. I then took some The Rabbit Hole Designs, LLC. sequins (you know, those awesome freebies they include with your order) and adhered them throughout the card for a little extra glitz. And that’s my card!
