KS April 2020 Release- Cool Cat

Hey all you crafty cats and kittens! I am so very excited to be sharing my projects using a new set today called Cool Cat, part of the Kindred Stamps April 2020 Release!

This set comes with a mullet-wearing tiger tamer, a tiger, and a bunch of super awesome and funny sentiments!

The first project using the new Cool Cat set that I’m super excited to share uses the tiger image and the sentiment “Don’t be that bitch”. I colored up my tiger, along with the hippie girl from the (retired) Peace and Love set using Copic Markers. I actually paper-pieced her dress using the same tiger-print paper you’ll find in the projects envelope liner. I fussy cut these images out and set them to the side.

I stamped the sentiment “Don’t be that bitch” onto white cardstock, cut it into a small rectangle, and framed it with a piece of ink-smudged scrap paper (smudged with Catherine Pooler Inks: Party Dress, Samba, Tutti Frutti & Limoncello).

Next, I took a 4.125″ x 5.375″ panel of white cardstock and placed the Palm Leaf stencil over it. I ink blended a 3-color ombré with Distress Oxide Inks (top to bottom: Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin & Picked Raspberry). I adhered this panel to an A2-sized piece of hot pink cardstock so I had a frame. I also took a smaller piece of hot pink cardstock (about 1.75″ x 5.5″), and adhered it on the left side of the card.

To finish this card, I put foam tape on the back of my characters and sentiment and adhered them to my card. I also took some sequin embellishments from a past Kindred Stamps Shaker Pack, along with a couple flat-backed jewel pieces. I adhered my panel to an A2-sized card base and was done!

For my second and final project using the new Cool Cat set, I took our mullet-wearing tamer and the sentiment “I love your golden nuggets”.

I colored up my mullet man with my Copic Markers and fussy cut him out. I also stamped the sentiment on white paper, cut it into a strip, and matted the strip with some black cardstock.

I took an A2-sized panel of the same black cardstock, and fastened it to my Mesmerizing Dots stencil using some full-adhesive-backed post-its. I took some Gold Gina K Glitter Glitz Gel, and applied it in an even layer over my stencil. Once fully covered, I peeled the stencil off and set my panel aside to dry.

Once the Glitter Glitz Gel had fully dried, I began piecing my card together. I adhered the sentiment and mullet man with foam tape, and also adhered some sequins from a past Kindred Stamps Shaker Pack. I finished this card by adhering it to an A2-sized card base!

And that’s how I made my projects!

I hope you’ve gotten some wild inspiration and are as pumped for this new set as I am!
